So, it’s taken me like 3 weeks to gather enough pictures of {decent} outfits to post today. The lesson? I do not have a lot of variety in my wardrobe. Also. I wear the same thing every day.
Now that I’ve sufficiently whet your appetite for my less than stellar outfits, let’s see what we’ve got…
I’m trying to embrace the skinny jean. Trying to wear them with flats. But I’m not lovin’ it. I wore this while the kids were at Camp Primo. I spent the whole day cleaning the house and grocery shopping. And the best part is by the time I got to the grocery store I had flip flops on, the pants cuffed and MY SHIRT ON BACKWARDS. Someone please tell me how that happened?! I saw the tag sticking up in the reflection of the grocery store window as I walked in. MORTIFIED.

You know, the reason I’m doing this whole What-I-Wore thing is not because I want to be fashionable. Seriously, it’s never gonna happen. I’m too lazy, too adverse to shoppingΒ and accessorizing. It has to do with me wanting to do my best. To getting up early and getting dressed with #hellomornings. It’s just a tiny little thing that helps me bring the awesome.
{linked to the always-adorable Lindsey at the Pleated Poppy! link your outfits up this week and encourage yourself to stay away from the pjs!}
1. I love that your pictures are taken w/ you perched on the edge of the bathtub.
2. I think ALL of the outfits are pretty cute, but I definitely like the wide-leg jeans better than the skinny jeans.
3. Love the pirate boots and the stripy cardigan!!
4. My favorite looks are your “real me” look and the one you wore to ballet.
5. I won’t be doing this any time soon, because who wants to see an assortment of pajama pants, sweatpants, and stretched-out holey T-shirts from college?
Jeni: that’s why I’ve been trying to do this–so I don’t keep wearing a tshirt and jeans every.single.day. You can do it! Even if you have to stand on the bathtub! π
I love your “real me” look! All the more so, I think, because it’s not the type of thing I can pull off. I usually go for a bit more formal and classic-looking (sweaters over blouses, scarves), and I find it can be really off-putting to other people. I’m not trying to be a snob, I just don’t know how to pull off ripped jeans or anything hipster. So, I admire people who can wear t-shirts over long sleeves and rock the look. I love fashion, but I also think we need to work with what we got…and that includes body shape, skin type, and the type of clothes that make us feel like ourselves. I’ve been enjoying your photos…I hope you’ll post more in the future. π
The only reason I have ripped jeans is b/c my jeans ripped. I’m not stylish. Just rough on clothes, apparently! π
I think that you are rocking the skinny jeans!!!! I have put on, ahem, a FEW, pounds and need to buy new jeans. I’ve been trying some on…..mostly at consignment places because to quote a friend of mine, “I don’t want to spend more than $10 on fat jeans” HA! but skinny jeans are NOT my friend. I’m too hippy. Or too saddly baggy or something of that nature.
YOU however look super cute. LOVE the red stripy sweater thingy. And the pins. And the sweater in the last photo!
Yes to $10 jeans! Do you have Plato’s Closet? They always have a $5 jeans rack: MY FAVE.
This was fun! Did you fall into the tub at anytime during the taking of pics? I would’ve, I am graceful like that!
I like the skinny jeans look, and I am not all that skinny anymore! That is too funny that your shirt was on backward!
It wouldn’t do me much good to do a post like this. I have a uniform. I wear a hoodie (various ones from different places we’ve visited) and jeans. Every day. Even in the summer, I wear the hoodie at home, unless I am cleaning house then it gets too hot!
Bernice
Oooh, I wore a hoodie yesterday and MADE myself not wear another one today. SO COMFY.
The red-white jacket thingie – LOVE!!! You are adorable in it all!
I love, love, love that you stand on your tub to see yourself in the mirror. You make me feel normal.
Ha! Yup. You’re normal. I’d love a big fat mirror in my bedroom but for that’s waaay down the list, you know?

You are completely adorable!

I actually love the skinnies on you!
Love these! Envy your figure like you can’t imagine…and your ability to perch on the edge of your tub like that. I’d have fallen in and busted my rear end on the first try! LOL
Standing on the tub is definitely an art!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds her own wardrobe lacking in style and variety… but I think yours is pretty cute! I like the “comfy” look of the layered tshirts and holey jeans.
Yay for layers! I’m all about comfort!
Love the wide-legged jeans. They are my favorite, and I’m scared of skinny jeans. π
I bought 2 pairs of skinny jeans for Blissdom. And altho’ they are SUPER easy for boots, I still don’t LOVE them on me…
Ok, so I’ve been watching this meme with great interest because it makes me wonder if I would dress any better having to be accountable to posting pictures of it. Maybe? Either that, or I would secure my claim to Least Fashionable Mother Ever. At any rate, I love that you are doing this and if you keep at it, you MAY just convince me to join in!
I think it does make you try to be creative. For example—that short black jacket? It’s usually my go-to “business casual” when I have to look decent for a meeting or date or something. Instead, I wore it to ballet and put a cute flower on it! Branching out! π
I love, love, love wide-legged jeans too. Skinny jeans. Ugh. Just can’t do it. Will be glad when this trend ends.
Well, either way, you pulled it off. Ha!
You know, if it ends it will just come right back in a few years. As long as tight-rolling stays far far away.
You just got style. Admit. You can’t help it. And you have variety. I pretty much wear the same 3 pairs of jeans every single day.
Hooray for joining in with WIWW! I struggle too with wearing (and re-wearing) the same combos and need to think outside of the box a bit and mix things up more.
The skinnies look cute on you! I also liked your striped drapey sweater and the brown sweater with the chunky button–very fun.
I need to find a good pair of wide leg jeans–yours are hip and stylish.
I am going to go with the minority here and say work those skinny jeans because you look awesome in them. I love this idea. I have done similar things on blog before showing off my thrift store finds. I will definitely have to jump in on this one sometime. Like you said, not because I am like “look at me I have adorable clothes”, but I think it’s cool how you can look cute and not spend a ton of money and that is what I am all about.
you are so cute. And I am so embarrassed on what I look like. People probably think I’m crazy.
I love it all!!! I’m really trying too…it’s hard but I’m understanding it’s a process. I do love me some sweat pants though!! π You look great in skinny jeans!!! and I love the short sleeve t over the long sleeve t look!!!
I’ve ventured into skinny territory the last few months but I’ll forever be a wide-leg jeans/pants fan. It must be my inner hippy. The skinny jeans only come out for boots.
Cute stuff! Reminds me of my What I’d Wear Wednesdays. Remember those? π
Well, I think you look adorable!
