Something New: What I Wore Wednesday

Before Blissdom I bought some clothes. Like actual cute clothes. Like clothes from a store where they don’t sell milk. It all started because I found Charmed Valerie’s daily outfits and The Pleated Poppy‘s What I Wore Wednesday. They are just the cutest most adorable things–and their outfits seemed well..normal. And I am a comfy girl. I like to wear jeans and a tshirt and flip flops. But somwhere along the way I have turned into the girl that will be wearing the same outfit for the next 20 years. And blending right into the wallpaper.

So, after perusing the fashionable depths of The Pleated Poppy and Charmed Valerie, I decided to step up my normal every day attire. And to make it even more fun (for me) I started taking pictures of myself when I did. Here we go…my first foray into not dressing like a bland slob…

{by the way, we don’t have a full-length mirror anywhere in the house…so I had to stand on our bathtub to get a good picture. “good” being a relative term, of course.}

Wore this one to church…

what i wore wednesday

Skinny Diva jeans from Old Navy, Grey and White Sweater from Gap’s clearance last year (or the year before), black and white butterfly scarf from Old Navy, PIRATE BOOTS from Blowfish.

how to wear boots

What do you think? Are they aarrrright?

Wore this one to Lydia’s Kindergarten testing *sob*…

what i wore

Wide-legged Jeans from Old Navy, high heel boots from Tahari, cool pink sweater from American Eagle, Blissdom necklace from Lisa Leonard

Wore this to visit Skin Solutions and lunch with the kids…

{we’re actually in the bathroom of a restaurant and when I saw the full-length mirror I had to take advantage!}

sweater

same wide legged jeans as above, Rocket Dog brown shoes, cool sweater from Target and brown shirt from who knows where

Wore this to a funeral…more on that later…

dress and leggings

polka dot dress from Ross, leggings from Target, flat sparkly black shoes from Target, bracelet from Staci

So, I’m no Pleated Poppy or Charmed Valerie. But still! Look! I’m wearing grown up clothes! And I even look kinda cute! And every single thing with the exception of the Skinny Jeans were on clearance! WOOT!

What’s your favorite outfit? {of yours..not mine!}

this post is awesome because: I’m linking to the Pleated Poppy’s What I Wore Wednesday where people encourage and challenge each other to get out of their sweats by putting pics of themselves up to keep accountable! And PIRATE BOOTS!

    Haha! – I do the same thing on our tub, since we don’t have a long mirror either. 😉

    All your outfits are super adorable. My current favorite outfit is skinny jeans, with a tank top and scarf.

    You’re adorable as always … but i am impressed! Maybe I need to join the linky JUST to make sure I don’t wear the same thing every day & maybe actually put some thought into it!!

    (And I have to stand on our toilet, btw).

      That’s seriously why I did it. Now…is it possible for me to make another whole week of decent outfits?

      ps–the store w/the milk–stole that from you.

    I’m impressed Amanda!! Very chic and cute clothes! You’re way ahead of me. If you only saw what I have on today, you’d ask me, “Staci…are wearing clothes from Cheryl’s closet?!” (Shhh…don’t tell her I said that 🙂 )

    I jumped in for the first time on WIWW also. I work outside the home, so I am basically forced to get dressed. 😉 But I LOVE sharing ideas, seeing new ways to mix/match. Plus I’m a thrift junkie. Shop the Goodwill for my wardrobe. Enjoy showing how to dress glamorous for less. You have ADORABLE outfits! My fav is the first one with white top and the last with the dress and leggins. I so want to try that look.

      I don’t know why I resisted the leggings so long–they are the most comfy thing ever!

    I love boots! My black boots are pretty much my favorite thing in my entire wardrobe. Oh, and I like leggings too, only I always have a hard time finding good dresses to wear with them.

    Since I’m a stay-at-home mom, if I didn’t make myself get excited about clothes, I’d pretty much live in sweatpants and flannel shirts all the time. Sigh …

    That pink American Eagle sweater? Adorable.

    Also – love that first outfit. Very “rocker chic.” Very you.

    You have inspired me. I’m a “jeans and t-shirt” kind of girl…and I need to branch out.

    P.S. You are in tip-top shape! Share your secret?

      I’ve been inspired by What I Wore Wednesday, I’m trying to stop dressing like I did in High School!
