The front cover of Clubhouse Jr this month is three dads who call themselves the Go Fish Guys. They make music–CDs, DVDs and even VBS curriculum! They are hosting a contest with Clubhouse Jr about creativity–kids can write, draw or even make a song. The winner gets a trip to see Go Fish live!
Lydia wants to win, of course and is currently writing a book about a Unicornfish and a striped house. It should be a winner for sure. Ahem.
After reading through the Go Fish website and listening to some of their songs, I’ve decided that we love them. They have some some great harmonies, some fun hip-hop grooves and lyrics that are half crazy fun half Bible stories. I just ordered their CD Snazzy because it has a song that helps you memorize the books of the Bible. Fun!
And now I want to show you the real reason I like the GO Fish Guys…it’s because they wrote this song:
What do you think? Are you their newest fan, too?
We are HUGE Go Fish fans in our house! I actually started listening to them in college when they were an acapella group up in MN (I saw them in concert a few times in North Dakota where I was at school!) Then just a few years ago, after they started doing kids stuff, they decided to do a VBS program. They ended up filming it at the place I used to work (Club 3 Degrees) which is a Christian nightclub/concert hall/church. Apparently they needed someone to play a “bouncer” and the guys at the club thought my husband was the best fit! So we ended up spending a Saturday with the guys while my husband filmed scenes for their “Backstage with the Bible” VBS program! So if you ever see that DVD and you see the guy playing the bouncer…that’s my hubby! 🙂
Sorry for hijacking your site with such a long comment but I have a special place in my heart for the Go Fish guys as I am sure you can see! 🙂 I love the fact that my daughter gets to see her daddy on TV when she watches that video! Plus, doing the video is what got my husband interested in acting and he has since been in a couple of local feature films, some short films for our church and even a commercial that will be on the internet soon!
Yup! We are some of their biggest fans! 🙂
How AWESOME! Now I want the VBS video! 🙂
Love Go Fish. Our church played the Mom song video last year around Mother’s Day…..big hit!
We LOVE Go Fish too (although, I don’t actually like the Mom song since our family doesn’t fit the typical mold). I love the books of the Bible song.
Still, you gotta love that someone wrote a song about a mom!
I just wanted to comment that there is another Mom song that I like. Ralph’s World – M.O.M.M.Y needs C.O.F.F.E.E.
It even teaches spelling. 🙂
Ha! I L.O.V.E it!
Never heard of these guys until now (since we’re still waiting for our latest Clubhouse Jr to arrive- argh!), but LOVED the song! Thanks for the smile!!!
I have never heard of them but after lsitening to that song I foresee purchasing thier CD’s in my near future!
sweet! LOL
…and yes, I know who Dorothy is 😉
Commented on this post when it first went up, but had to write again to say that “Kickin’ It Old School” is $5 right now at Family Christian Store. (No, I’m not an affiliate with them… just shop there.)
Oooh, thanks! I love their $5 deals!
