We do Easter baskets a little differently around here. It all starts with my kids gathering rocks. And then there’s a Snow White cape and a Jesus basket and…well, it’s kinda cool. You should really go read my really detailed-with-lots-of-pictures post from last year (or the year before last!)
The point is, I want to make even Easter baskets point to Jesus. As much as I love a good Reese’s egg (and I do!), I also want to be purposeful with this pretty-big-deal in my kids’ lives. I remember my Easter baskets as a kid. So, I hope the way we do Easter baskets just plants another little seed of God’s truth and love into their hearts.
I started calling our Easter baskets “unEaster baskets” a few years ago because…I dunno, it makes people click on links, I guess. *wink* I like the idea of the gifts inside being less about the eggs-bunnies-and-chocolate of American Easter and more about growing in the Lord. Each year, I try to find gifts that will help my kids know Jesus more.
This year, I’ve collected some of my favorites gift ideas to inspire you!

VeggieTales ::: The newest DVD, Veggies In Space! We just watched this today and my kids’ loved it. The best part to me was the Larry and Jamie Grace duet at the end.

Scripture Stickies ::: Exactly what it sounds like–stickable Scripture verses. Kinda like a fun and meaningful post-it note.

God Gave Us Easter by Lisa Tawn Bergren ::: a sweet picture book for kids by one of my heroes!

Yancy ::: Her newest pre-teen devotional, Jesus Music Box Devotional + a Yancy tshirt. You know how much I love Yancy and her heart for giving kids God’s Word in the coolest way possible.

Seeds Family Worship ::: Honestly, this needs to be on constant rotation in your house because every single song is Scripture put to music. Plus, each volume comes with two CDs so you can give one away to a friend.

You Can Draw Bible Stories by Sandy Silverthorne ::: A fun book for your little artists. My kids adore this book and use it a lot during school when they are waiting on me to work with the other one. I love how it puts the kids into the story. It’s like a meditation for their little hands.

Willow of Wonder ::: I have loved Willow of Wonder since I found her Armor of God print during our Armor of God series. Go look thru her shop and you will find tons of prints you’ll want to hang on your walls.
Fun, right? Check out our printable Scripture cards to add to your own Easter Baskets!

My boys have been listening to Seeds of Courage at bed time. I am planning to get another CD for them for Easter.
My kids are getting powerade =) with bible verses on them. And books and stickers and a small toy each.
Great ideas !!
I always try to find so,etching Christ focused for my guys easter baskets. The first year it was a book with color beads explaining the gospel, one year a stuffed lamb. This year I found a masculine looking cross to hang in his room. I’m always looking for ideas 🙂
Love these. I’ve never heard of most of them. We are just starting Easter basket traditions so this helps. One thing we are doing is Easter shoes and a book..
We typically include a Scripture CD or devotional etc.
We’re starting unEaster baskets this year, having done no Easter baskets in the past. My daughters just got their first Seeds CD two weeks ago and I was already thinking of getting more for their basket. Other things that I know are going in are What’s in the Bible DVD and some flip flops for spring/summer. Started Sense of the Resurrection today too. Thanks for sharing your ideas for pointing our kids to Christ. You are a gift to those of us who aren’t idea-people!
New devotional a, Christian music, anything their interested in that has to do with Jesus!
To be honest I don’t know yet but these are some great ideas!
Awesome giveaway! Thanks for all you do!
Thank you for your work in preparing “A Sense of the Resurrection”. We can’t wait to get started!
Thank you for this giveaway! I am planning on putting in a new Bible, a veggie tales video and a few more things I nneed to come up with. I am loving all your ideas because as a kid I was always taught about the Easter Bunny but not Jesus so I am making sure my boys know what we are really celebrating!
We are loving a Sense of the Resurrection!
Love the reminders, encouragement and ideas do teach my kids about Jesus!!! Thank you!
inspired by you i did uneaster baskets for my kids last year, complete w rocks, etc. it was so powerful, not just for our boys but for my husband and i too. i would love to win this giveaway, especially the Seeds collection! thank you!
Wonderful ideas!
Peanut butter M-n-M’s 😉
Thanks for this giveaway! What an awesome array of prizes!
We’re doing a cmbined basket for our four Littles (3,3,2,8m) with outdoor/spring/summer activities/toys. Our big kdis (20.14) will get a basket of some of their favorite treats (and of course a chocolate bunny or cross.)
I’ve hemmed and hawed about this one. Crayons and coloring books, perhaps? I think it would be fun to put together a basket with them to help give away.
What an amazing giveaway! You’ve given me some great ideas for my boys, even if I don’t win! 🙂
I was just going to find the kids new devotionals for Easter, but this would be great!
We are adding an outfit, a new easter book, a chocolate cross, and I’m not sure what else. We WERE going to spend a month in Florida this spring and I was going to use the Easter basket to give them trip goodies. I probably won’t give them as much since we aren’t going. I might add rain galoshes and new raincoats but I need to get my butt in gear!
I am still deciding what to give my three children for Easter but you have provided some good ideas….
I haven’t decided.. We told the kids at Christmas that Santa (and the Easter Bunny, tooth fairy etc) aren’t real. So I’ve been feeling very convicted about doing Easter like we have in the past this year .. I’m just not sure.
Well don’t do it b/c I said! There are so many other good ways to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. You don’t need Easter baskets at all! And we certainly don’t mention the Easter bunny around here. 😉

I have been feeling very convicted to NOT do Easter like we have in the past. (I clearly need sleep and should proof read!!). I do have your Sense of the Resurrection ebook which we will be getting ready to use here shortly, which I’m very excited about!
I would love to win!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Honestly we have never done Easter baskets. Never had them as a child either. Winning this would be an awesome way to start though!!!!
My kids ages 11 and 6 are getting chocolate crosses,2 CD’s of her fav Christian singers for the 11 yr old, notebook for church notes and some crayons, coloring book s for the 6 yr old to keep him occupied in church 🙂 and a lego set.
Some Easter books I bought this year… and of course, some chocolate 🙂
The plan right now is to do away with the Easter basket. I am trying to drag myself away from showering the little ones with gifts. It is Hard.
Looking forward to creating an ‘unEaster’ basket this year! I love the music and the U-Neeks, but all great ideas.
We put a little bit of candy, books, and a few small toys.
I’m planning on putting some of these things you have mentioned in their Easter baskets. Things to keep the focus on Jesus. Going to check out the new Veggie Tales movie as well. 🙂
My littles are getting a Jesus Storybook Bible, kids worship cd, chalk, bubbles, and bathing suits.
This is an awesome idea! We do practical spring items as my boys have food allergies. They get new life jackets, kites, new bedding for the camper and things like that. We also raise caterpillars to butterflies around Easter and let them go to welcome new life.
My three-year-old has asked for sunglasses … life is easy when requests are this simple. 🙂
I am not sure about what exactly we are putting in the baskets. I make most of their chocolates and I am thinking some new shirts or hats as the filler(we usually do tissue paper due to the cats). I am looking at little jewelry and probably a devotional book to go with their current catechism. I have to be careful as we hid their baskets outside for them to find weather permitting. lol
I love the idea of giving Seeds cds, and a plant/flowers of some sort. Still thinking of a few other ideas. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
I usually try to make my kiddos Easter Baskets centered around Christ. They usually get a new Bible or Worship CD and a few other crafty type things. I love making Easter baskets memorable and relevant to their walks! Have really enjoyed using your ideas in past blog posts about activities to do leading up to Resurrection Day! Thank you !
Love all these Christ-centered easter items!
We usually try to do a new Bible study book, as well as something they can wear to remind them of Jesus~ new necklace or rubber bracelet or tshirt, and a new CD. We love SEEDS!
I plan on getting my little guy a Seeds Family Worship CD for us to listen to in the car as well as an awesome Easter book from Lifeway.
My 10 year old is getting the Adventure Bible by Mauss and Cariello. My 6 year old is getting the Jesus Bible : Discover Jesus in Every Book of the Bible. We’re adding in the Hillsong Young and Free CD for the 10 year old. The 6 year old will get a CD from American Heritage Girls with stories of famous people in history. Excited!
p.s. I think we got the idea here…write our sins on rocks and place them in a basket marked “Jesus” then it is replaced with beautiful gifts for our spiritual walk with our names. Thank you for that!!!
We give them a little bit of candy, but we do lots of crafts and activities with them to make sure that they know that Easter is extremely important…Jesus has risen!!!
Really haven’t thought of it yet. We usually just hide plastic eggs outside with cookies and candy in them.
Love these precious gifts! I’m hoping to put new Bibles in a few of our kids’ baskets and some dramatized Bible CDs in others. 🙂
Jessica
We do not do Easter baskets, but if I win I will this year the unEaster Basket sounds great!
We usually do a basket of books for Easter. Not sure what we are going to do this year.
My kids would love this!
We actually do not do Easter baskets, but I would love to win this bundle 🙂
