Today I met my friend, Wendy at the park. Well, we brought our kiddos to the park. We let the kids play around awhile and then she pulled out…her GPS! She is into geocaching and brought her GPS because there was a cache hidden in the woods at the park! It was so cool.
We followed the directions, then the clue (she printed offline) said it was by a fallen log. Sure enough, by a fallen log there was a big ammo box filled with prizes–a tennis ball, a new sippy cup, a magnet, a book, a crocodile car and all sorts of strange things. Wendy signed the log book to let them know we found it. She let her son put in a prize and take one out. So, he got the crocodile car and a sticker while leaving a Braves player bobble head and a Tide2Go pen.
I’ve really been interested in geocaching forever and now that I’ve been initiated, I think I’m going to do it this summer when my family goes to MO for a wedding. How cool to find some on vacation!
In other news, it’s day 4599 of the UBP. It feels like it, huh? There are over 800 people signed up for the party, which I think is really cool and I’ve found lots of cool blogs that I’ve bookmarked/delicious-ed/bloglined and can’t wait to get to know those people!
So, here’s a party for ya’–my sil’s 16th birthday. It was supposed to be an 80’s-early90’s prom. But it turned out to be wear-your-sister’s-ugly-prom-dress. I personally had a sweet dress and wore boots (or high-tops, I can’t remember) with it. I also had some awesome greenish blue eyeliner on and really, if I just had some black net arm-sleevie-warmer-things, I would have been stylin’. So, here’s me and my dh. Good thing he doesn’t read this blog. He’d kill me if he saw this. I think he was going for Miami Vice.
