I have always loved Advent Calendars. It started with my little paper-open-the-flap-read-the-Scripture calendar I had as a little girl. In 2008, I wrote a post about the BEST Advent Calendars EVER. I think this is what started me on the road to Truth in the Tinsel. (Seriously, go back and read that post, you’ll see what kind of Adventy-calendar stuff we were doing when Lydia was just 2!) There’s also the 2009 edition and the homemade Advent Calendar edition. Plus, my Advent Calendar Pinterst Board is almost famous! I could seriously cover my house in Advent Calendars in December!
There is something so magical about a countdown. Something thrilling about knowing you’ll open all the flaps, or fill all the boxes. The anticipation of the calendar is the perfect way to show our kids how the world was holding it’s breath for the Messiah’s arrival! And how we can do the same!
