Yes, I just titled this post ((HUG))) Your Bible.
Yes, I am actually suggesting you lead your little bitties in hugging their Bibles.
Wanna know why?
When Asa was just a year old, he had this Hug-a-Bible (and the Tiny Bear Bible) on rotation as his bedtime reads. But before reading, we always hugged the Bible. Then we’d say, “We love the Bible! Thank you, God for the Bible!” Or something awesome like that.
And whaddya’ know? Asa would hug the Bible and kiss slobbery kissses all over it.
He didn’t know anything about God, the Creator of the Universe inspiring men to write the Bible so he could hear God’s own words. Asa didn’t understand anything about God sending his own Son, Jesus as a man to be the sacrifice for his sins.
But you know what he did know?
The Bible is the most special book on our shelf. The Bible is a gift from God. We honor and love the Bible, God’s Words.
I think that’s an important lesson for kiddos to learn. I want them to learn it as early as possible. I want them to be dependent on God’s Word, to turn to it in trouble and prosperity.
I want my kids to love the Bible. I want them to consider God’s Word their food, bread and meat. I want them to recognize God’s Word as more precious than gold and sweeter than honey.
I think, as with any and everything, it begins young. We can introduce our children to God’s Word when they are teeny tiny and plant a seed there that will grow their entire life!
So, cheesy? Yes, a huggable Bible might seem like an American way to sell more books. I see it as a tool to teach kids to love and honor God’s Word above all other words.
What do you think? Cheesy or sweet?

Oh man. Amen! I pray that for my babies and for my own heart too.

Hi Amanda! Your dad told me about a book that you wrote for kids. Which one is it? I’d like to make a purchase for the baby in my family. Your father is a hoot! He is the engineer in the building that I work in.
