We made it! The last day of our 31 Days to Impress Your Kids! I am blown away by all the fabulous sharing, comments and interaction there has been on these posts. I’m honored that you’ve been a part of these 31 days! THANK YOU!
Today’s post is a quick one. It’s what all these other 30 days have really been about: LOVE. We want to show our kids the real and true, never-stopping-never-giving-up-unbreaking-always-and-forever-love that Jesus has for us. And we want to show our kids how much we love them, too.
When we realize that our children are eternal beings who will spend eternity with God or separated from Him, our love for them will push us to impress them with God’s Word and love. In everything you do, whether it be taking your kids to church, picking out movies for them to watch or reading the Bible together, make sure you are doing it out of love! Parent with true love that is patient, kind, does not envy, or boast, is not proud or self-seeking. Show them love that is not easily angered or keeps a grudge. May you always protect, trust, hope and persevere as you are loving and raising your children!
Today, as we close this series, I have a special book giveaway for you. (contest closed!) It’s written by Brennan Manning and John Blase and is called, Smack Dab in the Middle of God’s Love. Isn’t that fun? It’s about a husband and wife who open their home to the neighborhood children, just to show them God’s Love. And in their conversation, they discover that we are always right SMACK DAB in the middle of God’s Love!
I pray your home, your children and you will always know and feel smack dab in the middle of His love and plan for you!
{I’d love to hear about your experience in our 31 days. Have you enjoyed it?}

The one that most hit me is wanting to do better teaching my children why we do, or don’t do certain things. I want them to see it from God’s Word. What are the most important rules in your house, and what scripture so you use to back it up?

thanks for your ministry here. i’m one of those moms who doesn’t feel creative… i can tell my kids about God’s big love but don’t have lots of great ideas on how to show them and involve them in it. thanks for using your gifts to help us impress our kids. 🙂

I am really trying to take your advice to heart. I’m working on making God part of everyday and every minute, not just Sunday and meal time.

I have been wanting to drop by your blog since Relevant. Don’t worry…you don’t have to remember me because we actually didn’t meet there. I was at the homeschool meetup. I heard you introduce yourself and realized who you were. Ages ago…I mean 3 or more years ago, you helped me with bloggy stuff online. So thanks for that:) Nice to find you again:)

Thank you so very much for sharing your journey as a parent. I grew up in a family with muslim background and came to know Christ when adult. Now trying to learn how to help my child to know and love God with all his heart, soul and mind…and learning myself through this. Your posts gave me a bit more confidence as a new parent that with God’s help and help of his body I can do it. So much joy when I think about it. Thank you again.
