Contest has ended–congrats to our winner: Emily!
Welcome to Impress Your Kids!
This is the blog you didn’t even know you need! We are here to help you (at least encourage you!) to make a purposeful, active step toward teaching your kids about God, His Word and His love. We do crafts, read books, sing songs and play games to impress God’s Word on our kids’ hearts!
Here are a few of our favorite posts and a little sampling of the fun stuff that happens here every day:

Birthday Cake Puzzle {based on the Mrs. Rosey Posey book series}

How To Cut Letters, Make Stickers & Fingerpaint with Preschoolers

Our whole goal is to find God in the every day. We share that with you and hope you will use our ideas, our failures (yes, failures!) and resources to impress your kids for the Lord, too!
And to give you a little piece of us today, we’re giving away a GIANT prize pack of some really great resources that will help you impress God’s love and Word on your children! Ready? Here goes…

The Moon Shines Downby Margaret Wise Brown
This is our new favorite bedtime story. It’s a giant board book by the author of Good Night, Moon! The story follows a little koala around the world where he sees that God is watching children from all over the world, just as the moon shines on all of us every night. The words and illustrations are beautiful!
How to Be God’s Little Princess: Royal Tips on Manners and Etiquette for Girlsby Sheila Walsh
My 5 year old daughter has not put this book down in 3 days. It’s actually designed for a little older crowd–maybe older elementary. But that doesn’t stop my daughter. This book tells you how to dress, how to throw a party and how to be a real-live Princess. Only instead of the first-kiss-glass-slipper kinda Princess, it’s the God’s daughter kind of princess. We read several sections of the book together and I loved the focus on modesty, on gentleness and servant hood. It’s full of quizzes, funny illustrations and step-by-step instructions. {Oh, and my daughter’s favorite part? How to set the table. Go figure.}
Seeds Family Worship Music Sampler
Oh, how I love Seeds! If you do not have Seeds on your iPod you MUST get it! It’s modern family music with words taken straight from scripture. We have learned so many scriptures from these CDs. And it has helped my daughter learn to wield God’s Word when she’s afraid. I could not recommend them more!
See With Me Bibleby Dennis Jones
This is one of the best books we own. It’s out of print now but I just picked up 2 of them at a half-price book store and felt like I was walking away with gold! There are no words–just detailed, intriguing pictures of some of the Bible’s most loved stories. My children will look at this book page by page from front to back without stopping. It is THAT good!
Twas the Night Before EasterDVD from Veggie Tales
I’ve already told you how much I love this movie. You’ll love it for Easter and all year long! And speaking of which, stop by Monday because we’re going to be hosting a HUGE linky for all your meaningful Easter ideas, traditions and activities! It will be a treasure trove of Easter and Resurrection Day ideas!
Hosanna!-Today’s Top Worship Songs For Kidsby Veggie Tales
This CD is great—it’s modern songs with modern singers (uhm, like Amy Grant and Mark Hall) but with some Veggie voices thrown in. I laughed out loud when Larry is singing with Amy Grant and he says, “I feel like angels are watching over me!” This is one the whole family will love!

Disclosure: I was given The Moon Shines Down and God’s Little Princess in exchange for a review from Tommy Nelson. I received the Seeds Family Worship CDs in exchange for a review. I asked Veggie Tales to donate the CD and DVD. They said yes! I bought the See With Me Bible on my own!

Hey, Amanda!
So appreciate your blog and your heart for teaching parents to lead their kids closer to Jesus! My kids are 5, 3, and 4 months… I had yogurt for breakfast… and I have quietly stalked your blog for a couple of years. 😉
Hope you’re enjoying the UBP!
I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now, and absolutely love it! This is such a great giveaway pack. My son has just discovered Veggie Tales, and I’m interested in the Seeds Cds, so it’s perfect. My son Finn is 3 1/2. For breakfast today I had plain greek yogurt with honey, cinnamon, and flax seeds mixed in and topped with blackberries and almonds. It’s my go-to breakfast!
Amanda- I always enjoy visiting “Impress Your Kids”, & I love the ideas you share for leading little ones to God! We have soon to be 6 children- ages 6 and under! 🙂
Jessica
well… I didn’t eat breakfast unless you consider coffee food… but the kids had Honey Nut Cheerios and Life cereal.
I have 4 kids, 3 boys and 1 girl. DS 12 is going to Lima, Peru on a Mission’s trip this summer, DD 10 will be 11 next month but acts as if she’s 14. DS 8 is a ham! DS 5 is a snuggle bumpkin which is a good thing as he’s a rough and gruff little monster.
Hopping on by from the #UBP11 hop.

Oh I’m also a facebook fan and I liked this post….
AND what got me into your site was the post about the letters you cut and had your kids paint over… you know, the canvas ones? Well, we’ve done SEVERAL variations on that theme, including about half a dozen or so Peace on Earth canvases my now 3 year old painted for my family for Christmas – they were great! Thanks for the ideas!
