Pingg: Easy Online Invitations

I love me a good party. And there is nothing cuter than a sweet little invitation to get the party started off right. But I have learned that invitations are too hard for me. They are like Christmas cards. I have to collect envelopes, find addresses, hand write or print off a billion envelopes and then put stamps on all of them? I’m sorry, that’s cruel and unusual punishment!

I have tried evite a few times. Eh. It’s ok. Last year for Lydia’s Puppet Party I discovered Pingg. And it is my new best friend.

Let me give you a few screenshots and reasons why you will love Pingg as much as I do.

First of all, there are tons of designs to choose from. And the designers are real live designers. Not kids who do myspace backgrounds in their spare time. The designer I chose for Asa’s invitation has her own etsy shop! Just look at all this cuteness I found when I typed in “purple” as a search term on pingg!

Once I press send and my emails hit their boxes, Pingg keeps statistics on my guestlist. I can see who viewed the invitation, who said yes/no/maybe and who hasn’t responded. I can get personal messages from guests. And I can get a running headcount!

Not only does Pingg send out the original invitation, it will also send out a reminder email. This reminder email can be sent to all guests, only those don’t reply or those that said yes. There is also a scheduled thank-you email that goes to all guests and includes a link to the…

Event Website!

Eeek! This is my favorite part! It’s a full party website that includes the invitation, the guest list and their replies, a photostream (for the host and guests to upload), wishlists (like for gifts!), video stream and yes, even a twitter stream with your own hashtag! (Asa’s hashtag is #pirateAsa if you wanna follow along.)

mailable invitesNow, if that doesn’t tickle your online fancy, guess what? You can mail matching printed invites to your unplugged family and friends. BUT you don’t actually have to do the licking and pasting! Nope, Pingg does it for you! Just enter the snail mail address and they’ll mail it off.

Update: I had to change the date of Asa’s birthday party all the way to October. I didn’t think I could pull of a birthday party when I’m spending 4 days in Savannah. (By the way, the funeral is today. *sniff*) So, I just sent an email to all my guests via Pingg telling them the new date of the party. They were able to amend their RSVP status and there were no confusing phone calls or emails. My event page has all the new details and anyone can refer to it if they need to check it!

How awesome is that?

So, next time you’re planning an event and want it to be organized, cute, simple and stress-free? You need Pingg!

This is not a paid or sponsored post. I just love love love Pingg. So, I’m linking this up to Things I Love Thursday at Diaper Diaries!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

I don’t even know the way I ended up here, however I assumed this submit used to be good. I do not recognise who you are but definitely you’re going to a well-known blogger if you are not already. Cheers!

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

I leave a response each time I like a post on a site or
I have something to add to the conversation. Usually it is
triggered by the fire displayed in the article I looked at.
And after this post Pingg: Easy Online Invitations.

I was actually moved enough to post a thought 🙂 I
do have a few questions for you if it’s okay. Is it only me or do a few of the comments look as if they are left
by brain dead individuals? 😛 And, if you are writing at additional online social sites, I’d like to keep up with everything new you have to post.
Could you make a list every one of all your community sites like
your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

Welcome!
