Top Ten {Tuesday}: Blissdom Objects

For those of you are that are wondering if this is turning into a Blissdom/LOST blog, I deeply apologize.  This is just what you get when your blog is entitled “ohAmanda”…I just post about whatever Amanda likes. Anywhoo—I really wasn’t going to do a Top Ten about Blissdom but this morning when Asa woke me up at 5:15 and I was laying there wondering if I should get him up or pretend I couldn’t hear him I had a great idea for a Top Ten {Tuesday} list:

TOP TEN OBJECTS AT BLISSDOM

(I know you’re getting excited just thinking about it.)

1. Business Cards

Yeah, everyone at Blissdom had a poken ( a lovely gift from ConAgra). But nothing can replace the fun of trading business cards. Of course, some people were even a little more creative. I got chocolate with blog info on it, toothpicks and even a poppy.

2. Red Rubber Ball

The first keynote at Blissdom was by a man named Kevin Carrol. Anything I say about him here will be a complete letdown. Within 2 minutes I was in love with him. He is inspiring, articulate and challenging.  I already bought his book Rules of the Red Rubber Ball: Find and Sustain Your Life’s Workfrom Amazon.

3. LUCK

This may be a whole post in itself. I went to both of Scribbit‘s classes (of course) and in the first class, Blogging With The Stars, they asked each blogger what they think made their blog grow. Scribbit’s answer was LUCK. LUCK! Of course, she listed other things but she said that it comes from a good amount of luck–who you know, when you launched, etc. Can I tell you how encouraging that is?

4. Necklace

We got a Lisa Leonard necklace in our swag bag! LISA LEONARD. ‘Nuff said.

5. Potato

Over the past few months, a group of bloggers had been involved in a vlogging competition hosted by the US Potato Board. Blissdom was their final showdown. There were potato-tinis (mashed potatoes in a martini glass), lots of loud music, a little dancing…and well, you can read Jo-Lynne’s Tastemaker recap and see me in a TEAM JO-LYNNE shirt!

6. Whiteboards

Well, there was only one. A small whiteboard that any and everyone could write a note to sweet Anissa. Then we took pictures of ourselves holding the whiteboard and they will be shown to Anissa as a blissful gift. See all the Blissdom Loves Anissa photos!

7.  Bags

There were laptop bags, Gussy bags and swag bags but most importantly there were adorable Blissdom Land’s End bags. I love me a big bag.

8. Pacifiers

OK. So, there weren’t too many of these around. But I did snag a pacifier from Mam, one of the Blissdom sponsors. It’s actually a USB drive. Isn’t that cute? They totally win the prize for most adorable way to give me info.

9. Popcorn

ConAgra was one of the Blissdom sponors. So every time you walked into the lobby there was mountains of food to choose from. But my fave? The Orville Redenbacher bar. They even had chocolate covered popcorn.

10. Smoky Eyes

Covergirl brought Smokey Eyes to Blissdom. We were treated to an eye-makeover by some professional makeup artists. It was quite fun and I definitely came out smoky. (See yesterday’s pictures…) But I love this shot of me and my makeup artist mid make-over. Cool, huh?

  5. I’m participating in the Top 10 for the first time. I wasn’t at BlissDom, though I so wish I was. I just couldn’t get it to fit in to my schedule/budget. I have already vowed that no matter what I will be there next year. I hear it’s amazing!

    Someday, I’m going to make myself go to one of these things. It seems like it’s a fun way to meet people and learn things.

  15. Aw man! Orville Redenbacher bar – how’d I miss that? And I also missed the Blue Bunny whatever-they-had-that-had-to-be-good-because-IT-IS-ICE-CREAM (or frozen yogurt…whatever). But I do think I ate my weight in chocolate drizzled Poppycock.
