So, a few months ago I went to this conference. When I got my sweet pink swag bag, one of the yummies inside was an entire box of Little Debbie 100 Calorie Pack Triple Fudge Brownies. I was totally excited to open up that box and scarf one down. When I opened it and saw the actual brownie the first words out of my mouth were, “No wonder they’re only 100 calories! They are the size of a quarter!” Well, this is an OK thing to think to yourself. But perhaps, when you are standing by the Little Debbie 100 Calorie snack table later that day (inhaling the other 100 Calorie snacks that are you know, ACTUAL size), it might NOT be the best idea to share your new fudge=quarter theory. Especially if the only person standing around is the PR GUY FOR LITTLE DEBBIE. Yeah.
Well, apparently, Lil’ Deb didn’t hold this agaist me because I got THIS at my front door a few days ago…
Yes, Little Debbie herself (well, at least her smiling face) was waiting for me! And inside this adorable box were FIVE boxes of Little Debbie muffins.
FIVE BOXES.
A fun letter from the PR company was also included. Not a letter that said BLOG ABOUT THIS OR WE WILL TAKE BACK YOUR MUFFINS. Nope. It just said, “Enjoy! And if you want to share the mufifn-love, please do!” (It was probably a little more articulate than that.)
So, I did.
My cousin, Michelle and her husband Al were in town. We each picked out a muffin…I got lemon (which is a limited edition!), Michelle took blueberry and Al got double chocolate (a kindred spirit!). We oohed and aahed over the aroma. We did a countdown and then snarfed.
YUM.
Double YUM.
I’m pretty sure I ate about 10 muffins in the next few days. They are the perfect size. Not elephantine so you can barely choke one down. Not too tiny that you might relate them to oh, a quarter. Plus they are all genuinely yummy. My fave was of course the double chocolate. But I loved the lemon, too. Michelle said they tasted like Trix because they were so fruity.
I finally realized five boxes of muffins sitting in my pantry is not the best idea. So, I threw them in a bowl and took them up to Camp Rocks. I’m not sure what everyone thought of them, but when I came back to get the bowl…well, it was licked clean.
So. Are you sufficiently salivating? Because not only did Little Debbie sit on my doorstop with some muffin-love, she wants to visit you! Little Debbie has GENEROUSLY offered to send the same DELICIOUS box o’muffins to THREE of my fantabulous readers. That’s you!
If you’d like to experience this deliciousness (and don’t want to shell out the pennies they actually cost) you MUST leave me a comment about your FAVORITE Little Debbie Snack &/or a memory associated with it. (I’ll start it off with one below…)

I adore pecan spinwheels. I can remember poppin’ those things open for breakfast when I was in High School. But my all time favorite was Star Crunch. When I’d get those in my lunch, I was in heaven! They were much preferred to the Oatmeal Creme Pie. In fact, I just had a Star Crunch the other day…for the first time in like 15 years and it took me back to elementary school!
Your turn…

My favorite Little Debbie snacks when I was kid were Star Crunch. I went to my bff Lesley’s house after school every day and they always had the pantry stocked with Little Debbie snacks. Since my parents wouldn’t buy them, I raided it every day. One day we were opening our star crunch the way everyone did- by popping the bag. I popped too hard and the star crunch went flying across the kitchen and onto the floor at the feet of Lesley’s grandmother. Mumu was from Finland and didn’t speak any English. She jumped up on a chair and started screaming “cock-a-roach” with her heavy accent. Lesley and I laughed for hours and still giggle about it today!

LOL, My dad actually works for Little Debbie! He’s retiring this year and the new products are the best – my fav right now is the sweet n salty granola bar – which is a Sunbelt product. Its not for the calorie watcher though but definitely a great one. Other favs of mine include the choc muffin, swiss rolls, nutty bars (take them apart and eat layer by layer), the oatmeal cream pie – who couldn’t just scarf down like 20 of them (and be sick later I know!).
Great products and a great company. The funniest thing I’ve heard is that I have a friend who’s horse, named Noodle, gets giant oatmeal cream pies when he does well in a competition. He sticks out his tongue and really loves them!

Great! Amanda, what is it with us and food?!?!? Now I want a Little Debbie Cake…thankfully, I am going to the grocery store later today!
Oh, and I just got a CPK email about a new cheeseburger pizza…it looked really good! I am usually all about the BBQ chicken chopped salad (love jicama!) but the pizza looked mighty tasty!

I haven’t eaten a Little Debbie in YEARS, but I have many memories of those boxes being pulled out of grocery bags much to my delight.
My favorite Little Debbie story is really my brother’s story. I think he was about 18 – 24 mos and we were on vacation in Florida. He was having a hard time sleeping away from home and so at one point in the night he cried out to my mom, “Mama, ba-boo, ba-boo, please!” (ba-boo = bottle). She told him, “No, Neal, you don’t get a bottle anymore.” To which he replied, “Debbie Cake?” Ah. The comforts of food.
And I’m about to tweet this.

Oatmeal Pies! I would ride my bike to the corner store (way back when when it was safe to let your child go alone) to buy them. Yes, I’m OLD.

I got the chocolate fudge quarters of yum at Blissdom, too. Let me just say this: I did not have to find a place for them in my suitcase. 🙂

I loved the Nutty Bars. I haven’t had one in years, but can still taste them. My mom used to pack them for my snack when I went to summer camp. Don’t remember what I learned there, but the snack memories are quite vivid.
I’m also a big fan of the Oatmeal Creme Pies. They’d always get all smooshed up in my lunchbox, but were still delish.

Nutty Bars forever! My mom used to pack them in my lunch box when I was a kid. (No trading on those days!)
I have some Nutty Bars in the house right now. I may just have to go eat one after I hit submit…

Whoops! forgot to leave favorite memory (this is my I’m a subscriber entry..) My little brother and I used to eat zebra cakes daily – and we would eat black stripe to black stripe, nibbling our way through them. No snarffing.

My mom would by Little Debbie Oatmeal cakes for my Dad’s lunch and they would be in a little drawer in the refrigator that we were not supposed to touch, unless we ask and were given permission. I remember one time, when my Mom went outside or something and I wanted one so bad, I ran in the kitchen got one out of the drawer and ate it. But to my chagrin, my Mom came back in the same time I was eating and I could not explain why I had a Little Debbie cake in my mouth. Talk about time out, except it was called go to your room during my years of youth.

Fudge Rounds are my FAVORITE! I would walk to the corner store after school and buy one (or more) haha depending on my allowance ;P

And my Little Debbie Memory — Little Debbie Star Crunch and Oatmeal Cream Pies were always THE FAVORITE snacks when I was in Brownies and Girl Scouts. I remember *begging* my mom to buy either (or both) for Girl Scouts when it was my week to bring snacks. And to this day, Star Crunches remind me of elementary school, lunch in the cafeteria. 🙂

I LOVE Nutty Bars! They come in 100 calorie portions now which is SUPER!!!

Swiss cake rolls, without a doubt. They are 10,000 times better than hohos. And you can peel the chocolate off and it it first and then unroll them perfectly. mmmmm…it’s wrong how much I love them.

Nutty Bars.
I’ve shied away from LittleDebbie because I thought I was too good for them. But then I became a recessionista. And I gave in and bought those little affordable boxes of delight. I buy Nutty Bars for my kids. I eat the 100 calorie ones, and they aren’t half bad!
Lemon muffins sound delish.

I’ve only recently discovered the German Chocolate Rings. (I think that’s what they’re called.) They remind me of the Caramel Delite Girl Scout Cookies. I could eat a whole box in about 3 minutes, which is why I never buy them!

MmmmmMmMm! My favorite has always been the Nutty Bars! My husband and I absolutely love those things! When we buy them we keep them hidden and enjoy a little snack after all the kidlets are in bed. Shhh!
