You didn’t know my mom was famous did you? Well, she is. She was actually on a very famous tv show. A tv show that ran for almost 40 years! Yes, folks, my mom was a guest on Romper Room. I don’t know much about it, having never watched it, but Mama and my Aunt Sheila can sing the Romper Stomper song. *shrug*
If you know my mom, you will recognize her immediately in these pictures because…she’s the one that’s about to pop out from behind the table and take over the show! The rest of the kids are meekly sitting in their chairs. Mama is wondering, “When’s my close up?”
(And if you could see my niece Nora you would gawk at their similarities–in this picture and in personality.)
So, without further ado, my famous mother on the set of Romper Room:

If the date on the side of the picture is correct, Mama would have just turned 4. And yes, she’s the one on the far right.

(and oh, an oh vacation ww here!)

I’d picked her out b/c I though she looked a little like Lydia. But holey tamoley! She looks just like Nora!
That’s pretty cool that your mom was on Romper Room! (I’m not sure what exactly it was, either, but I’m still very impressed!)
WOW! That is kinda cool. I should look it up but Romper Room musta run for several years because I think I watched some version of it when I was little. But if that says 1961, well, I didn’t come for another 10 years!
Thanks for visiting me yesterday!

I used to watch Romper Room in preschool. My mom arranged for me, Lesley and our other best friend, Olin, to be on the show. Then, we all got sick!

I love these archived WWs. Thanks for sharing.
