A Day Without Fear

No fear

I don’t fear much. Spiders, heights and thunderstorms don’t bother me. It’s the things you don’t talk about that bring butterflies and heart palpitations. What would it be like to awake and not wonder if your kids were going to turn out ok, without wondering if your Dad will see your daughter get married, if you’ll be a widow before your time?

I think the only way to do this is by living hand in hand and step by step with the One who casts out fear.

When I align myself with the heart, the mind, the will and the joy of the Lord, I find strength.

When I live and look with resurrection-colored glasses, the things that seem paralyzing are suddenly leaping and running.

When I take my thoughts captive, chained by the Truth, I discover the things that ran away with my imagination are actually MORE than I could ever ask for or imagine.

A life of no fear–a day with no fear is one enveloped, cocooned and even marionetted by the fingers of the One who created light and life and said It Is Good.

Thanks to Blissdom’s Amber, Mrs. Flinger, Sara Sophia and Emily’s beautiful My Mother Never Knew She Could Dance post for the writing prompt. If you’re interested I found a few sites for writing prompts: Gypsy Mama’s 5-minute Friday, The Red Dress Club and The Write Prompts. If you know of any others, please leave them in the comments!

thanks for this, Amanda. fear- this kind of deep fear- is something i wrestle with more than i care to admit. i know God’s promises, i know He is sovereign, i know He is for me, with me. but the enemy sure knows my weak places. we have to arm ourselves with the Word! sharper than any 2-edged sword! fight off fear and live in God’s everlasting peace.

That’s it, Eryn! God’s Word is a sword and that’s the only thing we can combat fear/temptation/evil/etc. with! Thanks!

Thanks for posting this Amanda! This prompt was the hardest for me to write about, because it really hit a cord in my tender heart. I told my husband that writing that day really showed me a huge area of my life where I’m not trusting God and has opened the door for me to grasp Truth and start healing. Crazy how He is still meeting where I am, even in unexpected places, to show me His love.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

I think everything published made a bunch of sense. However, think on this, suppose you wrote a catchier post title? I am not saying your content is not good., but suppose you added something that grabbed folk’s attention? I mean A Day Without Fear | ohamanda.com is a little vanilla. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s home page and see how they write article headlines to grab viewers interested. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to grab people excited about everything’ve got to say. In my opinion, it might bring your website a little bit more interesting.
