Isn’t this a great picture? June is my maternal grandmother. My great-grandmother wrote the above words on the back of the picture. My mom told me my great-grandmother was a freak about numbers. She always wrote exactly how old her kids were–in years and months.
I love this picture because I don’t even recognize Grandma! She’s so round and chubby and toddler-ish! Plus, seeing those toys! I bet in 1933 she didn’t have many more than that. That bear is just classic. And her outfit is adorable. I love that bow!

What a great picture! I love looking at old pics – I spent an entire vacation (before kids, of course) looking through boxes of old family photos with my Grandmother. I love the reminder that there’s more to *me* than the worries I have right this minute…
Awesome trip back in tip.. can you imagine what the camera that took this shot looked like?
There is a certain timelessness to the photo, even if the toys and the clothes have changed a bit – it’s just a girl playing outside.
