1 Corinthians 5:7 Memorization

matching game
To help the kids memorize our LIGHTNING FAST FAITH verse, 1 Corinthians 5:7 (which honestly, I’m pretty sure they memorized after saying it 3 times), I made a little matching game. I actually made it for Asa because he loves matching games. But after I made the whole thing I realized, “HE CAN’T READ!” And matching words is not going to help him memorize the verse.

*sigh*

Anyway, I printed off this superhero mask template and cut them out of construction paper. I colored in some eye holes and wrote a section of the verse on each one. I made duplicates so he could match. Even as a non-reader, he may be able to do this. He’s pretty good at matching.

But even if he matches the words, they won’t be in order! Ack! You can see I did not think this through very well!

Then I had a genius idea! I made super-hero emblems on each corner of the masks. If he matches the emblems they will be in order! Not that that matters since he can’t read. But still. It makes me feel better. 😉

Well, it’s the thought that counts, right? At least we’ll get to talk about the verse, even if he can’t do the game, right? If you’ve got readers, this will be a better activity for them–let me know how they like it!

OK, I’m off to iron on our FAITH badge today! Get your and have a happy weekend!
