The Top Ten {Tuesday} In Which I Lament AND Rejoice in Blogging

top ten list

1. Mondays are my quiet days with Asa. Lydia is at school, the weekend is over and to-do lists seem short. We usually fold clothes or deep clean a room. And I write like mad while he watches TV and takes a nap.

2. Except for today. I’ve got FIVE posts to write TODAY. Seriously, they are all due TODAY. And that writing thing I have? Yeah, it’s not here. It migrated. Or jumped ship or something. Because I am empty of witty witticisms. (<–see?)

3. I’m feeling slow, sluggish and fuzzy. Empty of everything except apple donuts. (We went to an apple orchard yesterday. I ate an apple fritter. And bought apple donuts.)

4. In other, less strange and depressing news, I’m going to the Relevant Conference next week! It was a huge last-minute thing and I am TOTALLY crazy excited about it. This is a Christian blogging conference for women. So, not only will we be talking about juggling blogs and “real life”, we’ll also be discussing how to honor God in all of it. I need it. I do.

5. And just how and why am I going to this conference at the last minute? Well, it’s a long story full of tweets and emails, but it all boils down to the generosity of VEGGIE TALES! They are sponsoring me to attend the conference! That means I’ll be the Veggie go-to girl while I’m there. I’ve got some fun Veggie giveaways coming up and other super fun bloggyness you’re gonna love! So, I’ve been thinking about making up a Veggie Tales/Relevant mashup hashtag for the conference. #vegevant? #releveggie? #RellieTales? #ohVeggies? Thoughts?

6. That hashtag thing was a joke, you know.

7. I’m trying not to think about Relevant every second of the day because I have to get some stuff done around here (see item #2 above). But meet-ups, workshops and what-am-I-gonna-wear has got me a little distracted. PLUS, did I mention who I’m rooming with? The fabulous Jen aka Quatro Mama from 4tunate.net! I could NOT be more excited to see her.

8. AND do you know who else is going to be at Relevant? Lisa-Jo. Kat. Mary. Dawn. Carisa. Erin. Brooke. Jess. Ann. Tsh. Tara. Michelle. Kristi. Myra. Stacey. Katie. Stef. Jendi. Eryn. Shaun. Emily. Stephanie. Amy. Courtney. And did I mention, Jen?!

9. That up there? That #8? That was my list of people to see, meet and and/or hug their neck. Who did I miss? Are you going?

9.5. Oh, I just remembered! One of my greatest friends, Yancy is one of the Relevant sponsors! So, I’m practically famous, right?

10. And now I have finished one of the FIVE posts that needed to be written today. I cannot promise that they other four will be nearly as mesmerizing as this one. I’ll let you know.

Not going to Relevant, but I’m excited for you and not at all surprised that Veggie Tales came through. My kids are huge fans. In fact, my 3 year old has asked to be a “biking” for Halloween because of Lyle the Kindly Viking. Hilarious πŸ™‚

Oh this just makes me smile. Because you are not empty of your witty witticisms!

I find – some of my favorite most read posts are ones that I thought I had nothing.

Go figure! I am empty – but He is never!

I can’t wait to see you! Yippee! We’ll sit, we’ll listen. We’ll walk away overflowing!

Franke this is simply fantastic. If an illustrated essay broken down so succinctly cannot get Canadians to recognize the atrocities that are being perpetrated then I have absolutely no idea what will. All I know is we need to protect our delicate ecosystem from corrupt people like Harper and foster a better tomorrow.
