As I was trying to think of a good Top Ten list for you today, I reviewed some of my old posts. And I ran across to totally random and weird lists: P Words and Most Famous O Words. So, today, in an effort to continue the random, here are
THE TOP TEN MOST WONDERFUL “W” WORDS EVER:
1. Wilderness.
I don’t know, this word is just…wild! And it reminds me of Fort Wilderness at Disney World. (You knew I’d get that in there somewhere, didn’t you?)
2. Wilma.
As in Fred’s wife. Isn’t that the best name ever? That l-m combination is just weird. Go on, say it out loud a few times. Wilma. Wilma. Wilma.
3. Wart.
Actually. This word makes me shudder. It’s bad enough that warts are warts. But do they have to name them warts?! Gag.
4. Watermelon
I think this is a great word to say if you want to sound southern. Of course, the better pronunciation is “waddermelon”. Go ahead, just try it with your best Southern accent.
5. Weird.
Well, it’s not that this word is so great, I just love that people misspell it all the time and write “wired” instead. For some reason that makes me laugh. Wired. Weird. Wired. Weird.
6. Whatever.
And of course, it’s abbreviation, “Whatevs”.
7. Woot.
A great social media response to anything great. Double your excitement with Woot, Woot!
8. Wackadoo.
I’ve never actually said this but I heard it on Project Runway last week. I think it was as a description for Mondo. Which is very accurate, I think.
9. Wallop.
If I was a little more country, this is one I’d actually use. “I”m gonna wallop you, boy!”
10. Whip.
I think this is one of those onomatopoeia words. You know, the ones that sound like what they actually are? I think whips make a “whipp!” sound, don’t you? Plus, they remind me of Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones. And that’s nice.

You are just too creative! I read {in amazement} your top ten lists every week!
Let’s see, I’ll add “Whacha-ma-call-it” to the list!
“Whatevs” haven’t you heard? M is the new W.
I just went back and read your Top 10 list of ways to make readers happy. It was a great list. I think it’s finally time for me to have an “about” page. Thanks for hosting the blog hop this week. I share a recipe, but it’s more about being creative to use what you have on hand for dinner. Thanks!
This list is so fun! I’m gonna have to steal your idea and write by own “letter-word” list!
I grew up in the city and I remember my parents using the word “wallop”! If we did something wrong or were too noisy, my dad would say: “If you don’t knock it off, you’re going to get a wallop!” We never could stop ourselves from laughing when he said that word!
Thanks for the smile!
I love the list! I think it is quite appropriate for the common misspelling of weird to be wired, because at least in my experience they often go together. Well at least I think it is weird to see people all wired, though you could probably be weird without being wired, am I write or just weird (and a little wired…I mean tired…)?
OMGosh, I am so glad I didn’t have coffee in my mouth when I read that. That is TOO funny!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your list! And I DO use the word “wackadoo”… regularly. 😉
Wo0T w0Ot! { I like the double woot with number 0’s } 🙂
hilarious. I love this list.
This is a great list! I’ll add wondrous to the list. That’s one of my favorite words!
Oh my gosh!!! I missed that somehow, but Wackadoo is so the perfect word for Mondo. BTW, I’d never seen Project Runway until 1 month ago when I was in a hotel for the night and couldn’t find anything else on..now I’m totally hooked…Tim Gunn is a hoot. 🙂
Phew, I’m so glad to be back in the Top Ten Tuesdays….I’ve been very sporadic in my blogging, but I explained why today. Forgive me if I’m really late in noticing, since I’ve been all over the place…did you change your blog? It looks lovely!
My favorite W word is Wendy – for my 4 year old daughter! 🙂
Ooooo, yes. Thinking of Indiana Jones is oh, so nice!
Hmmm . . . I think my favorite W word would have to be whirling. As in Whirling Dervish, my six year old who lives up to his nickname every moment he’s awake.

I rarely comment, however after reading a few of the comments on Top Ten Tuesday: Best “W” Words | ohamanda.com. I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it’s okay. Is it simply me or does it look like like some of the comments come across like they are left by brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are writing at additional social sites, I would like to follow anything fresh you have to post. Could you make a list of all of your public pages like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
