My parents. At their wedding. 1974.
My parents have been married for 36 years. And when the got their very first ATM (Tillie) card, they chose their anniversary date as their PIN. But somehow they picked the wrong date. And ever since then they get confused on the date of their wedding. Well, they might actually remember it, but once they told me that story, *I* could never remember their wedding date. So, their anniversary is either today or tomorrow. Or yesterday. I think.
Regardless, I’m so thankful my parents have loved each other for over 30 years!

It really is wonderful to have parents who are still in love! I’m thankful for mine (26 years and counting…).
Oh my GOSH how cool is that picture?? (And makes me feel old since your parents were getting married when I was 7 months old :P) They look so happy!!
Congratulations to them!
So sweet! And sounds so much like your parents to have the wrong date;)
Happy Anniversary Cindy & Darrell!!
what a great photo of them.
Love the excitement, hope, and anticipation on their faces. Congrats to your parents!
Thanks honey for remembering this! I know I put make up on that day- but you sure can’t tell!!
It was yesterday 8/3 and once again I was confused by the date. Didn’t even think about it once. Walked into my office late in the afternoon and saw this FTD florist box on my desk. At first I thought- what in the world is this thing? Then I realized it was August- but my first thought was- Oh Darrell sent this a day early. I had to go to my computer and look at the date and think- “Is this our anniversary?!” When I called Daddy he said he was worried he was sending the flowers a day early! Whew…you’d think after 36 years we could remember the date!
Mama, this made me laugh out loud!!
Toooo funny!
Oh my goodness!! So typical … ALL of it:)
Your mom’s comment cracked me up!
I really enjoy your blog! :0)
I am a victim of identity theft, so I speak from experience…now that all your readers have a good idea of your parents’ ATM PIN, I think it’d be a great idea for them to change it to something totally unrelated to the date of their wedding anniversary.
What a cute picture! My husband and I were married in 1976, so I can relate! (Our daughter is also a blogger, Christi from Frugal Novice)
Super cute picture! It’s almost like your mom is saying “what the date today?”
Ha ha, such a sweet story!
A similar thing happened with my birth date. It’s June 27, but for a while we celebrated on the 26. Your parents look so young! Hooray for true love and going the distance!
They really haven’t changed hardly at all. Still as good looking as ever.
I love the big eyes on both the bride and the groom. They look so happy and excited about the future.
It’s laborious to seek out knowledgeable folks on this subject, however you sound like you recognize what you’re speaking about! Thanks
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
With immense pride I wholeheartedly recommend the website http://www.seo-backlinks.org.uk to all those who are searching for quality Backlink Diversity that will knock out google panda and penguin crush your competition and catapult your website to the first page of Google search engine. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
