My Great-Great-Great Grandfather Swan Anderson, his wife and 3 children.
How awesome is this picture? There is writing on the back by my Great Grandmother, but no date. I know I had some info on Swan at one point. A few years ago I entered all the genealogy info I had on my family on Ancestry.com. It’s such a cool site to build a family tree on–add pics, stories, voice recordings and more. Anyway, I clicked over to it this morning to see what I had recorded about Swan. But there was nothing!
Hmph. I know I have it somewhere. I’m going to have to go on a scavenger hunt today.
If I remember correctly, Swan came to the United States from Sweden and heard that a girl from his hometown was in Germany. She was pregnant but without a husband. (Unsure of how this came about…) So, Swan sent for her. He married her and they had several children together. I think their first child was Jenny, my great-great Grandmother.
Isn’t that a great story? I hope I remembered it correctly!

That really is a fantastic picture! It looks, from the scan, like it is so fragile. Don’t you love all of the collars? The story is great, too.

I love the history in this picture. And the history of your family was quite facinating. Great love story your g-grandparents had! Thanks for sharing.
