1. TWO alarm clocks. One on each side of the bed. I was getting so tired of my husband asking me, “What time is it?” Or setting an alarm by MY head for HIM to wake up. Two is much better.
2. TIVO. We finally, FINALLY, got DirecTV so we’re using the TIVO again. That zippy little fast forward button, the automatic recording of every episode…*sigh* I may marry my tivo. (And since TIVO is on twitter, well, that just makes them even more fun.)
3. The letter Y. It’s the best little letter. If I can’t think of the right adjective, I just add -y to whatever word I want. It makes things cook-y, banana-y, tv-y and my favorite, purple-y. Awesome-y, right?
4. The Popcorn Button on my microwave. Seriously. I want to kiss the genius that thought of this.
5. Cloth Grocery Bags. It’s not necessarily because I want to save the earth (although, who doesn’t?). It’s because I want to save myself some pain. You can fit more in a cloth bag, which means LESS of those ridiculous plastic bags hanging around. PLUS, they have handles long enough to put on your shoulder! So much better than having your fingers squeezed off by the handles of plastic bags!
6. Non Stick Aluminum Foil. I’m sure this is all kinds of bad for you, but I can’t help it. This stuff is great for freezing, covering sticky stuff like a frosted cake and is an all around miracle.
7. easyComment. I’m still working on a Google Reader tutorial…I just haven’t quite figured out all the fun little extras yet. Anyway, one of my fav-o-rite things about using Google Reader is an awesome Firefox extension called easyComment. It enables commenting right inย your reader! You don’t even have to click out of it! See? Here’s my Google Reader with my Impress Your Kids blog up:
8. Targus Card Reader. I can’t find a link to the one I have, but basically it’s a little USB key with an extra hole–a hole to add the memory card from your camera! No more cords! No more having your camera hooked up to your comuter! Just plug this little guy right into the USB jack on your computer. LOVE THIS.
9. Never Forget To Return Your Library Books iPhone App. Oh, wait. I don’t have an iPhone. And I don’t even know if that’s an app. But man, that would make my life easier.
10. Ziploc bags. I have an obsession with ziploc bags. I use them for freezing food, for storing food, for storing craft supplies, for packing clothes and sundries in a suitcase and for offsetting the fact that I use cloth grocery bags.

Awesome list! I, too, am obsessed w/ Ziploc bags. Just placed a huge Alice.com order …mostly Ziplocs! Now, I’m wishing I’d ordered the nonstick foil rather than the plain ol’ stuff! ๐
I’m intrigued by the easyComment! I’ll have to look into that!
on my list would definately be TIVO, the TARGUS card reader, cloth shopping bags, non-stick foil, ziplocks and two alarm clocks too!!!!

We were separated at birth-y. I really couldn’t agree more on the popcorn, Tivo, cloth bags, alarm clocks {we have 2, too} and ziplocs {just bought sandwich and gallon sizes at Sam’s yesterday}. I have GOT to check out the easy comment option. Please post info! And I do have an iPhone, but would forget to install/ check the app, surely.

I can comment right from my Reader!? Oh, you’ve GOT to teach us how to do this! I’ve never tried using the popcorn button on my microwave — it scares me. Of course, the fact that my ‘nuker is currently posessed, might have something to do with that. And I’m serious about it being posessed; it ocassionally decides not to cook my food and flash “666.”

I was so happy happy joy joy when I saw the easy comment part of this post. I have been trying to get it to work all day. It works when I’m actually on the blog, but not from my reader. Is there something I’m missing?
I’m terrible about commenting and if I can work it from my reader, I know I’ll be better. I just know it.
Thanks mucho!

Dear Amanda~
Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a note. I really enjoyed this meme. I use a cheap timer for so many things. Alghough I think mult-tasking is a great idea, it may not be for me!! If I get too much going at the same time I tend to burn the green beans, dry my laundry into shriveled bits of fabric, or burn the biscuits. Carrying around a “helper” has proven to work for me. You have a great blog and a wry way of writing that I really enjoy. I will check in with you often.
I write to encourage Christian moms in the awesome task of mothering. I write and teach Bible studies for MOMS and have for 21 years. My boys are grown and have boys of their own. How fun is that! Anyways, we are about to launch an online Bible study for MOMS on the book of Ephesians. It might be something you might be interested in doing. I have put 10 Podcast of my series on Philippinas called Joy in the Journey. If you are interested you can download them to hear what my ministry is about. Perhaps the Lord might use it to bless you in developing the fine art of Christian mothering. Blessings. jean stockdale

Alright so I am a complete fool when it comes to this sort of thing. I am amply paranoid when it comes to backing up my novels (there are as many as 12 copies stashed here and there) but guess what I didnt bother to back up before my hard drive in my laptop crashed a couple of months back? Every-blooming-thing else. To be honest I was in the process of backing up the kids pictures when it happened. I had just taken a hiatus of sorts from it (ran out of CDs) and well guess what.. poof! four years of pictures gone. I learned a very hard lesson.
