Why Being a Grandparent is Apparently Better Than Being a Parent Part 2

Reason #1 You never have to feel bad about letting your kids watch too much TV. In fact, if you take your granddaughters on a two day camping trip, feel free to bring your computer loaded up with cartoons and let them watch it in the tent. At 10pm.

their tent!

Reason #2 You never have to worry about silly things like pajamas, modesty or privacy.

Reason #3 Also do not need to worry about bathing suits.

Reason #4 Powdered donuts for a midnight snack while watching a laser show with about 3000 drunk people is perfectly normal.

Reason #5 If you tire them out, there are no fights at bedtime.

Reason #6 Beautiful granddaughters.

(This was just the TINIEST recap of my parent’s 2 day “cousin camp” they put on each year for their TWO preschool granddaughters. This year was a camping trip complete with mountain climbing, train ride, crafts, swimming, ropes course and more!)

oh, and part 1. also, last year’s camp primo.

Oh, so much fun! I miss Stone Mtn! What a wonderful place for grandparents to take 2 preschoolers!

That’s too cute! I must say that I would rather be a grandparent than a parent. If there was a way that I could just skip the parent part… I might do it.

Yes, that’s definitely what grandparents are there for. To let our kids do all the things we won’t. hee hee

I am just now catching up on your blog after a week and a half of not reading. 🙂 Two things… 1. I love your craft blog and your ABC Bible verse work for Lydia. That’s great! 🙂 and 2. Your parents totally rock! Grandparents are awesome! huh? Mine parents are coming in town this week to take care of Caroline while Andrew and I celebrate our 2 year anniversary with a romantic getaway. 🙂

#1 – love it! And reason #4 doesn’t apply to just Grandparents – that’s my ideal way to spend a Saturday night. Maybe with less drunk people tho.

That is amazing!!! I think Lydia must have the best grandparents in the world : ) Do you think they would mind two more next year, lol? I wish our parents would do that kind of thing with our girls.

My little girl often talks about when she grows up to by a mommy. I never let those comments go by without a pitch. “You’ll let your kids come sleep over at my house, right?” She’s finally consented to short visits.

I really enjoyed that post. It looks like they had an amazing time on the camping trip. I’m sure they’ll want to do that every year.

Welcome!
