Bloggerific

I just love that the word blog can be used to make so many great words: bloggerific, blogalicious, bloggy, bloggity, blogosphere, blogorama, blogalockaluska…you get the idea.

One of my favorite blog words is bloglines. I’m sure you’ve heard of it or may even use it. But if not, I thought I’d give you a little heads up on it. Plus, I’ve been playing with mine and it’s got me thinking about it.

Bloglines is an online tool that helps you keep up with all the blogs and other sites you read. You sign up for a free account then every time you find a blog you like you add it to your bloglines account. (I’ve just got a little bloglines button on my toolbar and it’s easy as pie!) When you go into your bloglines account, it will show you the list of blogs you read and it will be in bold if it’s been updated. No more clicking around to 50 blogs just to see if they’ve updated! It’s my favorite invention ever! I read about 100 blogs. Of course, I don’t click on them every day or even read them every day. I just keep up with them. Check out the blogs I read here.

I’ve got my blogs in folders: mommy blogs, bloggy blogs, in-real-life blogs, crafty blogs, etc. So, some days I just read my friend’s blogs. Other days I’m in the mood for some crafty blogs.

So, if you’ve got more than 5 blogs you’d like to keep up with, I highly recommend bloglines. Plus, then you’ll know every time I update! I put up a new little bloglines (or other rss feeds) button in case you haven’t subscribed to me yet.

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, can you think of any more blogtastic words?

I used to check about 17 blogs everyday by memory. Tim kept trying to tell me to use Bloglines and I wouldn’t set it up. Finally I did, and it’s a good thing – trying to keep up 140 blogs is much easier now. Well, except when I come back from taking a break and I have over 500 feeds to catch up on – holy moly!

Okay, I’ve been semi-resistant to bloglines. I signed up a long time ago and never really went back, but it is getting hard to know when all the blogs I like to keep up with do updates… so I went back over there, added a few new blogs and I think it is going to be good now. Thanks for the nudge. I needed it 🙂

I think bloglines is the best thing that ever came up. For hardcore bloggers YOU NEED bloglines. There is no way I could leave it now:)

    Like the new look:)
