Me! Oh, no. Not of my Oprah tickets. That starts tomorrow. Didn’t want to get your hopes up.
No, I got some awards! Val, Alexis and Morning Song gave me a nice award. Literally, the Nice Matters award! WhyMommy gave me the Bloggy Community Involvement Award (it just means I shmooze well with others). My good friend Annie gave me a Courageoius Blogger Award. How awesome are they?
You know, I’ve done lots of awards posts. And honestly, they can get repetitive. But I really do appreciate them when I get them. So, I don’t want to ignore them, you know? So, for today, I thought I’d break the awards rules and not give it to anyone. Instead, I’m going to tell you why the person who gave me the award does indeed deserve it themselves. (And yes, I know, they got it in the first place. That’s why they’re passing it along. Making me a little lower on the award totem pole.)

“This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world…”
You know how much I love Val. I love opening my inbox because I can count on Val leaving me a comment for every post. Sometimes she’ll just wait and comment on 5 of them at once! And every comment is a nice one!
Alexis. I met her via Val awhile ago. And even left her a few comments. I guess I forgot to blogline her and recently Val linked to her and when I clicked over I said, “Why don’t I read her every day?” She’s in my bloggy friends folder and I’m so glad she is!
Melodye at Morning Song! We met because of a church connection in Bham. We just kinda clicked. (Is that an internet joke?) I started reading her blog really early on…like maybe a few days in, Melodye? And now she posts on 2 blogs and is just tearing it up! I love her!

βAn award for those who have the natural ability to effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They donβt limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello – all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.β
WhyMommy. She’s got inflammatory breast cancer. Every day she’s blogging not just about diapers and first steps and motherhood, she’s blogging about doing this while going through chemo, while losing her hair, while having pain in her body. Yet, she has the ability to encourage others, to get the word out about ibc and love on her kids like any other mom–maybe even a little better than the rest of us because she’s got a new world view. Are you on Team WhyMommy?

“For those bloggers who are battling or have battled with physical or mental illness, those who are survivors of abuse, poverty, or who have overcome other challenges in life. Those who serve in the military or work/volunteer in dangerous situations in order to provide a service or to help others. This award is for the strong, the brave, and the courageous.”
Oh, Annie! What a courageous woman she is! She’s the mother of 4! That should do it right there! She has about a million comments on her blog every day because she’s just a sweetheart. What makes her really courageious in my eyes is that she walks by faith. Her daughter Izzy was in a drowning accident and can’t do the stuff other preschool kids can do. Annie doesn’t look at that. She sees her daughter through the eyes of faith. She speaks God’s Word over Izzy and believes that she’ll be running around with all the other kids one day. I agree with her. Click Izzy’s button on my sidebar to read more.
That’s all I’ve got. It’s not the Academy Awards, but it was fun!

Thanks, darlin’. I know, all the awards can get so overwhelming and tiresome . . . I so agree. I still want to thank you for always making MY inbox so happy (with emails, too) and for thinking so like me (it’s neat we found each other) . . . I can’t wait till we actually get together in person. It IS gonna happen. So, no, thank YOU my nice, friend. π
You deserve them!
