…meeting new people with whom you just click. I met Candace today in real life. We went to the Georgia Aquarium (which is way cool, btw). She even prettier, sweeter, younger and more fun in real life. I had such a great time hanging out with she and her family and friends. (Did I mention Lydia was quite taken with Conner? She gave him 2 kisses!)
…watching Lydia sleep. She’s been sleeping through the night since she was a few months old. She’s always slept in her crib, so watching her sleep isn’t something I do often. Tonight on the way home from our big fishy day, she stayed awake for about 20 minutes, then her little eyes started slowly closing. She was sucking her thumb hard and fast, then her little thumb would fall out of her mouth, to be quickly sucked back up into her mouth–eventually giving way and falling out again. Soon, I could see and hear her sucking with nothing in her mouth. Totally peaceful. I was watching all this through the rear view mirror while I should have been paying close attention to Interstate 75. But honestly, how can you not watch that sweetness?
…God’s creativity. One of the best fish I saw today was straight out of a Dr. Seuss book, it’s called a Leafy Sea Dragon! I wish you could see it in real life. It looked like a floating piece of seaweed, not moving at all. But when you looked close you could see these tiny hairs moving back and forth to propel it. It’s obvious it is designed to camoflouge itself in the ocean. Completely amazing. It’s got a cousin, the Weedy Sea Dragon. Leafy & Weedy! I love it!
…paying $8.99 for a kid’s quesadilla. OK, maybe this isn’t one of my favorite things, but it happened today and I had to squeeze it in somehow. $8.99 for a quesadilla! Isn’t that like one tortilla and one ounce of cheese? Good grief. Next time you’re in Atlanta, don’t stop at Don Juan’s at the CNN center. Let’s just say customer service isn’t their top priority.

Amanda, now I know why I love you so much! Because you really enjoy and savor the tiniest things 🙂 I love watching my sleeping babies too. I think we’ve probably all caught ourselves in dreamy la-la land watching our children sleep while driving instead of the road! And the fish . . . how cute! You are just so fun.
And 8.99! Wowzers!!! At least you’ll always remember it!

Amanda, it was GREAT meeting you and Lydia! Your Lydia is just so precious, and you’re so pretty! My MIL kept saying, “She’s just cute as a button!”
I think Conner and Judah fought over Lydia for quite sometime after we left…there was an unspoken tension the whole drive home 😉
Can’t wait to meet up with you again when we’re back down. The pictures are fantastic!! I’ll let you know as soon as I have them uploaded to flickr. Have a great day – give Lydia a tickle for me 🙂

PS – I think we need to learn, “You’re ripping me off!” in spanish, for the next time we get taken for a ride at a mexican restaurant!

My family went to the GA Aquarium last July and I loved it, too. I was amazed at the new creatures I had never heard of or seen. And I squealed (yes, literally) when I touched the sting rays and gasped when my hubby touched a shark (yes, he did!) I would recommend this place to anybody who can get there! God is definitely happenin’!
