One reason I’m attracted to blogging is because I love to read and write. Blogging lets me do both. Tonight I stopped by Ann Kroeker’s blog. She posted a great post (isn’t that redundant?) about choosing to experience life. Experiencing life brings “material” for your writing. It’s more important than the writing. Honestly, I’m not going to try to explain it anymore. You can just read her post, it’s great.
As I read her blog, I thought, “That’s me this weekend!” I’ve purposed that I will blog everyday. It keeps some order in my life. But, these last 2 days haven’t been full of blogging or reading or writing. It’s been full of “life experience”.
I had 11 people in my house today to practice for a puppet show we’re doing for some kids in downtown Atlanta on Easter weekend.
I went to a small group Bible Study tonight and watched a grown man get emotional about the sacrifice Jesus made for him.
I watched The Amazing Race with 4 of my best friends.
I had my sisterchicks over to my house to watch a chick-flick and eat eclairs.
I worked in my front yard with my husband and daughter.
I slept late this morning and in between dreams, heard my husband and daughter eating breakfast together.
These are small events that can just make up your weekend, or be experiences that form not just your writing, but form your life, who you are and what you become. Thanks, Ann for helping me mull over my weekend and savor each moment!

The puppet show rehearsal alone sounds like it could be packed with blog-material! Thanks for visiting and linking to my post, but most of all I’m glad it affirmed your blog-free weekend. Call it “research.”
Also, I feel the same way about blogging–the reading *and* writing aspects are a big draw for me. And I love the interactive nature of the blogging community, illustrated perfectly by my post + your comment + your post + your link + my comment, and so on, as we meet new people, carry on interesting conversations, share common interests, and weave an almost literal web on the World Wide Web.
It’s great to make your acquaintance, and I’m glad you were finally able to post a little something, to satisfy the blogger in you. Oh, and I love your diaper bag/purse combo in the previous post. My kids are out of diapers now, but that’s exactly the kind of creative solution I would have looked for. I used a backpack-style bag before they were common. Yours is far more hip.

Hi Amanda,
I linked over to you from Ann’s blog and am so glad I did. I’ve enjoyed reading through your posts – “my miracle” was a great story, and I’m glad for the Truth you shone onto Oprah’s “secret.”
I appreciate the encouragement from both you and Ann about living life and not counting it as wasted if you didn’t blog. It’s good to be reminded!

I found your reply on BooMama’s and linked over. I, too, had one of those weekends where I was busy living life. Trying to get it down into some blogs will be challenging, but I will have fun trying!!
Also, LOVE the purse (even if my kids are too old for diapers!!!) Now I have to carry around my family desk planner to see where my taxi must go next!!
