I’ve been teaching Lydia sign language since she was about 3 months old. She’s been really soaking it up this week. And today she signed (drumroll, please) a SENTENCE! She was in her saucer (which is the most random thing, because I usually keep it on the porch. anyway.) and was eating raisins. When she finished she looked right at me and signed “more” then “eat” then “please”! Is she the smartest baby or what? That is one of those times when I felt like a good parent. Fast forward to the sweet potato and all the peas being thrown on the ground, the arched back, the hitting her head on the hardwoods twice, the 45 minute early bedtime because I couldn’t handle the screams, and my good parenting days are looking a little dim.
