Look! I made a new printable for Praying God’s Word for Your Kids! You can download it and the rest on our Facebook page. I love this whole chalkboard fad with lots of fonts—you know I’m a sucker for doodling! Plus, this Scripture is an important one to my family–it kept us focused on God when my dad had cancer. (If you haven’t heard that story, it’s a good one. And in the aforementioned ebook. It’s free if you wanna download it!)
So, it’s January 3rd. Seriously?! That means Christmas was over a week ago. (Whaaa?!) That also means Lydia’s 7th birthday is in two days. SEVENTH. How is that even possible?!
As soon as Christmas is done here, we’re gearing up for her party without a breath! This year we’re doing a Secret of the Wings party. Ohmygoodness, it’s going to be fun!
While I’m planning this party, I’ve also been planning some fun stuff planned for you and the blog! This year the kids and I are going to be doing some hard things and we want you to join us. I’ll be announcing more about after Lydia’s party. I’m so excited about it–and I think it’s going to be really cool.
I’ve also spiffied up some of our previous series for you to tackle with your kids. Like our How To Be A Super Hero. If you’re looking for some fun activities, crafts and devotions to do with your kiddos in the new year, this would be a fun one! And my new series, The Armor of God will also begin next week. Eeek! I can’t wait!
Anywhoo. This post feels like a commercial, “Coming soon to a theater near you!” I just wanted to touch base in this in-between week of coming out of the holiday fog into the fresh new year to say I’m here and thinking about you!
Oh, and I’ll leave you with Lydia and Asa’s favorite Christmas present and their new year’s resolution: spend as much time on this thing as possible:
So. What do you have planned for the new year? Any resolutions? New adventures coming up?

LOVE the printable! Thank you!
Yes, we have been re-prioritizing and planning here too…a free monthly family fun planner to print and a Scripture art journaling project underway.
Very excited about 2013!

My girls (3 and 5) enjoyed doing Truth in the Tinsel so much! This was our first year to do it. After Christmas was over my oldest one said she wanted to do it again right away and not wait for Christmas, so I let her redo some of her favorite crafts. Thanks so much for the Super Hero link. I missed not doing Truth in the Tinsel and this will be a great thing for us to work toward at our own pace. Thank you so much for helping out all of us moms.

Hello, old friend. I can’t believe they’re turning seven either. At least I still have another month to savor the sixness 🙂 Our family resolution this year is to use softer words and be kinder to one another. So far, I’d say our resolve has been kind of meh. It’s a process, I guess, but we’re aware of it and we’re working on it. In other news, we are adopting again! But, shh… I haven’t announced on my blog or FB yet 🙂 Happy New Year <3
