The baby is my mom at six months old. The young man is my grandfather–probably in his twenties. The older woman is his mother, my great-grandmother. The oldest man in the middle is her father–my great-great Grandfather.
I love this picture because I feel like you can just see all their personalities—or at least their roles in the family. Great-Great-Grandpa looks like he has no idea what’s going on. He’s just the old doddering grandpa of the family. Great-Grandma looks like she knows she’s the matriarch and she is the one in charge. Grandpa is giving off those, “I’m an adult but why do I still feel like a kid around my parents?” vibes. While Mama is just the happy little baby.
I love a picture where there seems to be tons going on behind the scenes!
Do you have a retro photo to share? Post it on your blog and then leave the link in the comments so we can all see!

Amazing…you really know how to keep pictures. I wish i have retro pics also. I only have pics of my grandfather from my mother side. I never saw a pic of my grandfather’s parents because my mother didn’t know how to keep pictures also. According to my grandfather, his father went back in Spain together with his youngest brother after the World War II. And that was the last time he saw his father and brother. His father is Spanish while his mother is Filipino. So, you are so lucky to have pictures of your family.
