Top Ten Tuesday: Best Breakfast Foods EVAH

{{{Hey, I just linked up to Real Life Sarah’s Your Life, Your Blog. So, hello if you’ve stopped by from Sarah’s.
If you are just randomly reading this because you love breakfast…well, enjoy!}}}

top-ten-tuesday

I’m hungry. And tired of cooking. So, without any more talking, lets get to daydreaming about my TOP TEN FAVORITE BREAKFAST FOODS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD!

1. Eggs-ceptional Eggs from The Flying Biscuit. How can you not love a restaurant called The Flying Biscuit? It’s one of my favorites in Atlanta. They are just beginning to franchise, so be on the lookout! They have TONS of yummy breakfast foods including chicken sausage and organic somethin-or-the-other. But my favorite is the Eggs-ceptional Eggs: two blackbean “lovecakes” topped with two eggs over easy, feta cheese, green tomatilla sauce and sour cream. Not to mention their creamy dreamy eggs and biscuits with cranberry apple butter. I am seriously ready to get in the car right now and head over there!

eclectic, fun & yummy!

2. Daddy’s Eggs Benedict. Daddy is the best cook I know. And his Eggs Benedict is famous: a grilled english muffin, topped with a fat piece of canadian bacon, an egg over easy, hollandaise sauce, a little paprika for looks plus some sliced olives. On Christmas he served it with orange juice and grenadine. Oh my.

3. Waffle House. I just told you what I like to get at the Waffle House. The Waffle House is full of memories for me because we usually hit it up after a concert or special event. It’s one of those places that is better experienced after 11pm.

4. French Toast from The Pancake Pantry. You may remember my first trip to The Pancake Pantry. Staci and I went after the Dove Awards. And we were stalking Brian Littrel? Ah, memories. I recently experienced it’s deliciousness after Blissdom with our friends Yancy & Cory. It is the most delicious french toast I’ve ever had in my life. Not to mention the cinnamon syrup. And their hashbrowns? Like a giant mashed potato grilled on one side. OMG. (And one day Jessie and I will have a meetup there!)

cory uploaded this to his facebook just to be mean to me.

5. Waffles with peanut butter. Not sure if this is a yankee thing or just a family thing. But waffles slathered with peanut butter and then floating in warm syrup is about the best thing I can think of.

6. Cracker Barrel. I couldn’t decide which was my favorite food here. I love their hashbrown casserole. LOVE IT. Their egg sandwich on grilled sourdough? DIVINE. And their sausage biscuits? Well, when we lived in Birmingham, I’d call ahead and have some waiting for me to eat on the way to church.

7. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice. I could drink a gallon of it.

8. French Toast from The OK Cafe. Another Atlanta favorite. The first time Daddy took me to the OK Cafe I got the French Toast and I think my taste buds almost died with happiness. It took me a while (like a few months) to figure out why it was so delicious. I think it has a cinnamon sugar coating on it and then it is… deep-fried. Yeah.

9. Scrambled Egg Sandwich. Daddy makes the most enviable scrambled eggs. He cooks ’em nice and slow so they are fluffy fluffy. When I was pregnant with Lydia I craved his scrambled eggs. I tried replicating them and made scrambled egg sandwiches (with a nice slice of cheese) almost every day. I can taste it now!

10. Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit. So, it’s fast food. But seriously, it feels like a special occasion when I get to eat a Chick-fil-a Chicken Biscuit. Their biscuits are sweet and crumbly and I love them. Yummy yum.

So, are you hungry yet? Well, let me hear your TOP TEN favorite foods! Or your TOP TEN anything! Just post a TOP TEN list on your blog (it doesn’t have to be about food, although apparently I’m hungry today and would love that), then leave your PERMALINK on the Mr. Linky below, then visit around and leave some comment love for the rest of the TOP TEN participants!

My most favorite breakfast is from Cracker Barrel!! I dream of their old timer’s breakfast (eggs, bacon, grits, sawmill gravy and apples).

Cracker Barrel’s egg sandwiches ARE yummy! And thanks to this post, I’m probably going to go home & make eggs benedict for supper. 🙂

I have never heard of #1, #4, or #8. I do love me some Cracker Barrel & egg sandwiches. I rarely eat waffles, but last year on vacation, a friend made them & put ice cream on them & they were YUM. I bet they are good with PB too. I’ll have to try that!

Not many people know that you can get MORE pieces of french toast at the Cracker Barrel than you can at IHOP. And they’re BETTER!

I’m also a fan of my homemade buttermilk pancakes. Maybe I’ll make some for lunch today!

Southern girl, where is the GRAVY on your list? That would have to be my all time favorite breakfast anything!

how is it that I am in the process of eating lunch and your list STILL made me hungry?

We have a Flying Biscuit here now…I may have to try it later this week!

I just found your site through Tiffany @ Lattes and Life, and it’s so great! My fave breakfast at Cracker Barrel is the Sourdough French Toast, though it doesn’t look anywhere as good as the french toast you’ve got pictured. Yum!

    It’s me again, Margaret…

Stupid me somehow ended up linking to last week’s list, too. Ignore.

I should probably take a nap.

Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits are a favorite breakfast food of mine as well! At our local Goodwill this month, donors can get a coupon for a free Chick-fil-a chicken biscuit every time they donate. Think I’ll be able to make several trips to drop off unwanted items during June 🙂

I also always put PB on my waffles. It’s how I learned E was allergic to peanuts. No Yankee blood here, though. 😉

Oh I love Flying Biscuit! We should meet at the one on Candler and then go to the park afterwards. Have you noticed though that the food isn’t as good there as it was a few years ago?

I love love love a good breakfast. I am so sad that my little TN town doesn’t believe in it. Cracker Barrel and McD’s are the only choices for breakfast. I don’t have anything against Cracker Barrel – it does a good breakfast – but since it is the only place it is always jam packed.

I do need to head into town and try the Pancake Pantry – I hear about it all the time.
