I’m Giving Away Sleep!

It’s been five weeks of my new little pirate. Five whole weeks of newborn diapers, sweet baby smiles, cuddly blankets, and tiny clothes. It’s also been five whole weeks of feedings every 3 hours, screaming fests and sleepless nights. As wonderful as a newborn is, it can also be the scariest most aggravating time of your life! This little bitty person is completely dependent on you and they can’t remotely tell you what it is they need or want! What a privilege–and a daunting task.

When my daughter was born (a whopping 2 and a half years ago) I wanted so much to be a perfect good mom. I wanted my daughter to sleep through the night, nurse like a champ, have a perfect temperament, do sign language and of course, be a genius. So, I read every baby book I could get my hands on.

One of my favorite books is The Moms On Call Guide to Basic Baby Care. This is an unbelievably helpful book written by two pediatric nurses who are also experienced moms. They were the nurses that sat by the phone and answered all the late night phone calls of frantic first time parents. So, they’ve heard it all! Their book covers everything from nail clipping to understanding your doctor to swaddling to GETTING YOUR CHILD TO SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT. It even comes with a dvd with some of the most helpful tutorials I’ve ever seen. (Like spreading a towel on the bouncy seat to hold your baby after their bath! GENIUS.)

Moms on Call has been featured on FOX News, ABC Family, Parents Magazine and tons of other sites and resources for parents. They have a newsletter that goes straight to your inbox full of helpful parenting tips, sicknesses that are going around and info on their parenting seminars, personal consulting and online courses.

And this is where the giveaway comes in! One of these fabu authors is actually one of my friends! (But I promise I’d love this stuff even if she weren’t!) And she has graciously offered to give YOU my fantastic readers the opportunity to win one of their online Baby or Toddler Seminars. These are online classes that cover things like:

  • Getting Your Baby To Sleep Through The Night
  • Specific Soothing Techniques That Work Immediately
  • Learn to Tackle Toddler Tantrums
  • Master Potty Training
  • and more!

You can see some video samples of these courses online at MomsOnCall.com. These courses are a $30-$60 value!!

Are you interested yet? Well, if you’d like to win one of these online seminars, just leave me a comment. Any comment will do, but I especially love comments like “OMG. I so need this!” or “How cool are you to give this away?!” or even “YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE BLOGGER IN THE WORLD.” If you’d like a second entry, leave me a comment letting me know you subscribed to my blog through your favorite feeder or via email. if you really really really want to win and would like a third entry, head over to MomsOnCall.com and subscribe to their newsletter. Then leave me yet another comment to let me know you did this!

This is open to anybody anywhere throughout all of time. Just make sure you leave a valid email address. I’ll announce the winner on Friday!

And don’t forget to check out all the giveaways at Bloggy Giveaways but especially the giveaway over at my other blog, Impress Your Kids. It’s a good’un.

And oh. Asa is advertising Moms On Call on my vlog…it’s worth the click to see my little pirate sleeping…and hearing his sweet baby breathing…

YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE BLOGGER!! Oh wait. You’re already one of my fave bloggers. That doesn’t work. Um…

Oh yeah. I’d like to win this for two reasons. First, I could use the toddler seminar myself. Or I could give the baby seminar to my big sis who 11 weeks preggo with her first baby. Yay!!

Kitten October 27, 2008 at 12:28 pm

I so need the toddler seminar and wish I had figured out the towel on the bouncy seat trick when my son was a newborn, instead of 9 months old. But I finally caught on!

Leigh October 27, 2008 at 1:03 pm

um, I was going to say not to enter me for this one, bc I’m such a perfect parent. COUGH COUGH!!!!! sorry about that – I have no idea where that came from. But then I saw, Learn to Tackle Toddler Tantrums and Master Potty Training. I NEED these.

And you are my favorite blogger in the whole world. I’m going to sign up for the newsletter now.

“OMG. I so need this!”
“How cool are you to give this away?”
“YOU ARE MY NEW FAVORITE BLOGGER IN THE WORLD.”

Can I have it now? :-)

Karen October 27, 2008 at 1:39 pm

Okay, so do you think the baby sleeping will work on the 2.5 year old who still wants to wake up at least once a night? I would LOVE this book. Maybe I’ll succeed in creating a better sleeper with my second :-)

And you are a great blogger!

Deanne October 27, 2008 at 2:45 pm

OMGoodness….I so don’t need this, but if I won I’d pass it along to my cousin who will have their first child in Dec. :)

SAHW October 27, 2008 at 5:47 pm

Lisa October 28, 2008 at 4:24 pm

I’m expecting my second in April, and I could probably use a course on getting your baby to sleep – my son (who’s now six) never did sleep well! And I’m subscribing to your blog – as a soon-to-be-mom of two, I have a feeling I’ll be in the same place you are!

Sarah October 28, 2008 at 5:31 pm

I need this! And you’re one of my favorite bloggers! I have a two year old and a 5 month old… so I could use either the Toddler one OR the “how to get baby to sleep through the night” one. I already subscribe to your blog through Google Reader. AND I just went and subscribed to the Momsoncall.com newsletter.

Deane October 28, 2008 at 5:59 pm

This is the closest thing to a manual as I seen. I really need this.

Susan C October 28, 2008 at 7:29 pm

Well, I don’t need this, but my daughter sure does, she hasn’t had a good night sleep in the 7 months since her son has been born!

There’s a new young mom who is very close to me. This would be a tactful way to help her through the first year of parenting. You know how kids like the dvd presentations instead of books! Thanks!

Kristen October 31, 2008 at 9:09 am

Man, I hope it’s not too late to enter. I have a brand new baby girl – this would be a super helpful reference…
