I’m Just Going With It

It’s Monday. I blog about randomness. It’s just a fact of life. I refuse to kick against the pricks.

Have you ever heard of the Donut Man? I have to admit, he’s a little cheezy–I mean, Christian kids’ music from the early 90’s. We used his songs as puppet songs back in the day. So, I randomly tivoed it a few months ago for Lydia. She’s in *heart* with him. My favorite part is that she’s learning songs like, “O-B-E-Y! Obey your mom and dad!” and “Never! Never become tired of doing good!” That’s what we’re watching right now. I think I kinda *heart* him, too.

My cousin is getting married on Saturday. In California. And Lydia and I will be there. And I have so much to do before we leave on Wednesday! Like washing clothes. Like packing. Like deciding if I’m going to auto-post or let my blog lay fallow. Like emailing Deanne to see if we can actually get together irl while I’m there. Like getting off the computer right now.

I actually have a Menu Plan for the 2 days I’m going to be home. Can you believe it? One day it’s going to be Confetti Corn Quesadillas (so yummy) and then Honey Garlic Chicken in the slow cooker. I’ve got a few frozen dinners loaded up so dh doesn’t go hungry while we’re gone, too. I’m feeling very domestic!

I bought a dress for the wedding at Mimi Maternity yesterday. I forgot how much I hate that store. Sale items are NO REFUND and they make you sign the receipt so you don’t’ try to return it anyway. Ugh. Anyway, I had no choice. It’s actually a little cuter on than the picture…because I will never be standing like that…you can click on it to see a bigger pic…

ew. i'm wearing a tent to a wedding!

But what do you think about accessories? Could I wear some colored shoes? Or brightly colored jewelry? It’s just a little boring if I wear black sandals or something, you know? I’m already going to look like a jellyfish. No, not a jelly fish, but a jelly donut. Or something. So, do you have any accessory suggestions?

That’s all she wrote!

Love the dress! Do you have red shoes? Or a red chunky necklace and bracelet? Red would look great with that dress. IMO anyway!

Thanks for the honey garlic chicken recipe. Just printed it out for the crock pot tomorrow night. That really helps out with basketball practice going on!
About the dress…I like it. But I’m really no help with accessories. I’d wear black sandals and a watch. Boring me šŸ˜‰

I think you’ll look just lovely in the dress. Sorry I have no fashion advice for you, though.

Is that dress purple? I’d spice it us with some purple shoes and accessories šŸ™‚

I would agree with Heather (although I have NO fashion sense!) But I think red shoes and jewelry would be cute. I love the dress.

    Have a great time!

I was going to suggest red shoes – a popular choice, it appears! (The dress is gray paisley, right?)

Oh, and the dress is cute!

    It’s cute!
What about turquoise or aqua? I love that with black & white? You could do chunky jewelry and leave the shoes simple if the jewelry is bold. I would liven it up. Although your smile will make it look great!

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your blog. I read it almost every day and have no idea why I’ve never commented before. I’m a Christian mommmy too and I totally dig LOST and So You Think You Can Dance.

Happy blogging! It’s a joy to read šŸ™‚

ps. I think any bright colored shoe would be fun w/ that dress…and yes Mimi Maternity is a pain!

I think turquoise or red accessories would jazz it up quite a bit! : )

    Have fun at the wedding!

Aww, I’m jealous of Deanne – why couldn’t you have a wedding in Philadelphia to go to??? Maybe someday šŸ™‚

I think a little pop of color would be just the thing for that outfit. Maybe chunky purple beads?

your recipes sound amazing, and I too think any color would go great with the dress…

I wonder what my youngest daughter, Korie, who is OUR fashion guru would suggest – – – –

I like the red suggestions, but I’m old and what do I know?

That is a GREAT dress! I am “accessory challenged,” so I have no help for you there. I hope the wedding goes well. šŸ™‚

Oh yeah, I remember that no-return policy. Just lovely. Grr. What a cute dress you found, though. I think you’re right, it needs some color. Maybe a long necklace in a color you like to wear?

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
