Goin’ on a Safari

So apparently babies have to do exercises. Yes, they do. And the most important form of exercise is affectionately titled “tummy time”. Have you heard of this? You have to put your baby on their tummy every day so they can strengthen their neck muscles. I had never heard of this with Lydia, thank goodness she liked to lay on her boppy or the poor little thing would probably still not be holding her head up.

KIDDING.

Anyway, now that I know about tummy time, I have also noticed these little tummy time mats everywhere. You know cute mats to sit your baby on so they will actually enjoy tummy time? Great idea, right?

Because, oh yeah, tummy time is usually a cry-fest.

Well, Asa got to try out a cool new tummy time mat developed by One Step Ahead‘s Design Team! It’s called the Tummy Time Safari and in the world of tummy time mats…it is the cadillac.

I thought you might like to know the reasons Asa and I like this mat. So, here goes:

1. It’s big enough that my big sister can lay on it with me. (-Asa)

2. It’s got a big padded border around it so I can tell Lydia not to get inside it. (-Amanda)

3. It’s soft and squishy. (-Asa)

cutie. pie.

4. It’s padded enough I can put it on the hardwoods or anywhere else I might need to set Asa down. (-Amanda)

5. It’s got bright colors and fun animals. Because I already know my colors and animals, of course. (-Asa)

oh.

6. It’s actually cute! Cute animals, cute colors. Good for a boy or girl and not cheesy. (-Amanda)

7. It makes lots of really loud noises. (-Asa)

8. It squeaks and crinkles everywhere so I can hear in the other room if Lydia is playing with it. (-Amanda)

9. It’s got a big pillow, so I can chill on it. (-Asa)

how cute is he?

(outfit by my bbb, Annie! Thank you, my friend!)

10. It’s got a cute little boppy-type pillow that Asa can lean forward on, or lean back on. (-Amanda)

I didn’t know I would like this thing so much. I would normally just lay him on a blanket somewhere, but this is easier to move around, softer and more fun. We use it several times a day. Soon, Asa will be grabbing for those little animals and talking to himself in the mirror. I can’t wait!

So, do you want one of your very own? Well, One Step Ahead is giving one away! That’s right, just leave me a comment on this post…either about how much your baby detests tummy time and NEEDS this mat OR how you like free stuff and can’t wait to see this big box come in your mailbox OR just “Amanda and tummy time rock my world.”

And if you really really really want to win and would like some extra entries–leave me an additional comment letting me know you subscribe to my feed OR link to me and/or this post somewhere on your blog. Or you can always send me chocolate. I have been known to accept bribes.

Comments close on Friday. But don’t forget I’m giving away free stuff ALL WEEK. So come back for more!

BUT WAIT! There’s more! One Step Ahead is offering you, my lovely readers, a discount. Just enter coupon code: BLOGSAVE between now and 12/07/08 and you’ll get 15% off $85 or more! Sweet.

Thank you One Step Ahead!

Welcome!
