When my little pirate, Asa was born (4 months ago!) the main thing I was worried about was NOT the late night feedings. It was NOT the crying. Not even the diapers. It was HOW IN THE WORLD WILL I TAKE TWO KIDS TO THE GROCERY STORE?!
I just couldn’t imagine taking a newborn and an almost 3 year old into a store and getting them both in a grocery cart. I went through every scenario: baby in carrier in front of cart while 3 year old runs around the store OR baby in carrier in the back of cart with 3 year old in front of cart—but where would the groceries go? Finally I realized, I need a sling!
I’m not a “babywearer” but knew having two kids I was going to need a sling to help me out! Well, I hit all the sites I could think of and then finally made my way to etsy. (Why didn’t I go there first?) I stumbled upon Raspberry Baby and I think the name might have hooked me. Or maybe it was the fabrics.
I couldn’t decide between all her cute patterns so I settled on the edgy gray ring sling. It goes with everything and I thought maaaayyybeeee my hubby might wear it. (He hasn’t.)
And the main thing I like is the way she suggests wearing it…with the tail wrapped around your back and tucked under the baby’s bottom. It adds some more support AND it looks super cute.
Anyway, in honor of my pirate, my new life as a sahm to two, the bloggy giveaways, my new favorite thing and uh…the month of January, I asked Raspberry Baby if they’d like to give away a sling. AND THEY SAID YES. (That would have been pretty anti-climactic if they’d said no, huh?)
And not just any sling. They are giving away this ADORABLE “Inspired” sling in black and aqua.
DO YOU LOVE IT?!
It sells for $35 and YOU COULD GET IT FOR FREE!
Now, here’s the deal. I get a little antsy (and irritated) at the contests that make you do 50 thousand things to enter. But I really want to honor Raspberry Baby for their generosity, so I’d love for you to visit their site to see all their other cute stuff (like this! or oh, I wish I had this when I was preggo! or omg, do I need this!). So here’s the deal…
YOU MUST:
Leave me a comment. If you tell me your babywearing story, I just might be tempted to pick you instead of ramdom-ing a winner. If you compliment me, I really might pick you.
FOR TWO MORE ENTRIES:
Visit Raspberry Baby and look around. Come back here and let me know what caught your eye. (They also sell pouches, wraps and other cute mama-baby stuff!)
FOR THREE MORE ENTRIES:
Tweet this contest OR Stumble this post OR link to this post on your blog OR subscribe to my blog OR get my blog in your inbox OR write a 400 page essay on what OhAmanda means to you.
POTENTIALLY you could be entered 21 times. Am I insane?! Do you know how long this will take me to calcualte?! *whew*
Anyway, if you do any more of this stuff, just leave me an additional comment for each…just one comment is ok, unless you want to be like Dana from Are We There Yet and do my work for me (see below). Which of course, I love. And did I mention I love Dana? Well, I do. A lot. OK, back to the “rules”…yes, all you old current subscribers—leave me an extra comment and you’ll qualify for the extra subscriber entries.
OK. If you actually read every word of this post, you might get an extra entry, too. Thanks for sticking with me. Make sure to visit Raspberry Baby! And don’t forget to check out the rest of the Bloggy Giveaways, including my Day 1 giveaway–Snow White and Grumpy pendants!

I like the Toddler funky striped bib too for when our child gets older and can throw spaghetti all over (I can’t wait).

My son is to big for this now but it would be awesome for baby number 2 someday! By the way I have to tell you that I greatly admire you for being a military wife. Not sure if I could do it.

The first time I used my sling it was a lifesaver since I was taking my three month old son on a six hour plane trip to go meet his grandparents! Now I reccommend them to everyone!

I’m not yet a baby wearer, but I’d certainly like to be! There’s something to be said about having free hands 😛

So… I went through carriers and slings like crazy with my firstborn before I came across one I loved. Once I latched on to the right sling… I was constantly using it, even with my toddlers! I finally parted with it a few months ago (passing it on to a first time Mama). Since then, I’ve started caring for an infant and I’m missing my sling! I’d forgotten how hard it is to juggle baby in one arm while doing all that my world entails as a Mama of 5!

I am with you on the grocery store concern. It is a pain when I don’t have a sling and the toddler has to ride in the back of the cart — there is no place to put the groceries!
I have a sling, but it is just basic black. I would love a bright, beautiful one! I would also be interested in trying one of their wraps. I’ve heard it is a fun (albeit, hard) way to carry a kid.

I am expecting my first baby, so I don’t have any babywearing stories yet, but I definitely want to be a baby wearing mom! =) This would help me with that, seeing as I don’t have a sling yet! I would love to win! Thanks for the giveaway!

I have tried three different slings with none of them working right. This one really does look easy to use, super cute and I must say I’d love to give it another try! Thanks for the cool giveaway.

My cousin is having twins and I know she’s gonna have tired arms! This sling might give her arms a break when she only has one boy to hold 🙂 I would love to win this for her! Thanks!

I love Raspberry Baby’s Dreamy Vines Minky Bib too! So cute!

I have a wrap sling that I hate. I have a ten week old baby that has torticollis and I am now paranoid to let hang out on his back for very long. I would love a sling like you are advertising. I think it would be a lot more comfortable for me and Mr. Monster Man. The sling I have now always makes me nervous b/c I feel like he is going to fall out the bottom…and we all know that would NOT Be a good thing.

My son is 17 months and I still wear him. It is so convenient for traveling and after work somedays he just needs a little extra love. It is so nice to have him close. I would love this sling for #2!

I don’t have a sling for my little one. I would love to have one. It would make life so much easier at times. I love the modern charcoal sling!

I just have a snugli but I so want a sling like this.

Great giveaway. I have just recently become an avid baby wearer. I used my ring-sling all last summer when baby was newborn to garden and shop, and pretty much just get out of the house. I would love to win this for my sister (and best friend) so i can share in the wonderful experience of baby wearing with her, without giving up my beloved sling which i still use daily.
Thanks so much
Tara

I love the herbal hat bag at the Raspberry baby shop.
Thanks a bunch

My babywearing story is that it’s way easier to sling your baby and carry your county fair loot in the stroller than vice versa:)

Haha, you have a great sense of humor. 😉 Had to read the whole post (and believe me, I don’t usually do that!). My babywearing story… I got a fabric sling (no rings or anything, just a loop of fabric) at my baby shower and eagerly awaited the time I could use it. It just didn’t not ever work out for me. Course later I realized it’s because the sling was too big – it made my baby hang too low and I didn’t feel like she was secure. I did, however, buy a regular baby carrier front pack and I love it! I carried her all over the big city and she loved it! And of course it’s something people love to see as well. 🙂 Okay, this is probably getting too wordy. 🙂 But feel free to pick me rather than random-izing! Gosh I can’t even remember what the prize is. But I wanted it. ….. OH yeah the sling with the ring! (Hey that rhymed!) I actually want to send this to a friend of mine who is pregnant and I knoooow would totally appreciate it! Thanks for the giveaway, you rock! 🙂

Love the maternity modern flirt skirt edgy black and white material – so cute! I should have worn skirts when I was pregnant. Oh wait, it was winter. Nevermind. 🙂 Great shop!

You certainly don’t look like you just had a baby 4 months ago! You look Fabulous Girl!
I carried my son around in his car seat! Do you believe it? It’s like lugging a extra large bag of potatoes that keeps banging you in the leg when you walk! Not pretty! I hope for better things for my daughter!
crickettsmom says
I liked the lace nursing cover. Also liked their suggestions that it could be used as a blanket or stroller cover as well. Multi purpose, gotta love that!
Karen says
Yes, I have a baby wearing story. My daughter would cry all the time and then she would finally fall asleep in the baby sling. When I would try to lie her on the bed, she would wake up screaming. I could not get any relief from her. She was a very unhappy child.
Anyway, this would make a great gift for my new niece who was just born 2 weeks ago. The mom has 3 other boys, so a nice girly print would be great!
Thanks!

I LOVE the inspired ring sling.

We have a pounch sling and a Baby Bjorn. Libbie usually likes the Bjorn but it tends to hurt my back. I am still having a hard time getting her to sit right in the pouch sling where we both feel comfortable. She prefers being more upright against me, so that makes it difficult. I’m thinking maybe Stephanie from Adventures in Babywearing could help me at Blissdom??
Nell @ Casual Friday Everyday says
You have so confused the heck out of me. LOL 😉
I’m a baby wearer and I’m always game for winning a cool new sling/wrap whatever.
So here’s my official entry! I doubt my one lonely comment will win it but you never know.
Maybe the Sling God’s will be shining down on me today.
