It’s Saturday! It’s kinda gloomy here, but I like rainy, sleepy days. Too bad my kids get stir-crazy. This past week we’ve been playing lots with our cousins–my sister-in-law (and fam) live in Mexico as missionaries and are in the states for a month. The kids love playing together (aren’t my nieces adorable?) and Asa was excited to get his Spanish-speaking aunt to read his Spanish Curious George!
Speaking of reading (see how I did that?), The Better Mom has had a fabulous series on her blog about reading the Bible with your kids. Here’s a few fabulous posts in the series: Reading the Bible with 0-3 Year Olds, Drawing the Bible with 4-7 Year Olds and Giving the Gift of God’s Word.
This Is My Job is a fabulous post (and maybe a little kick in the pants) from Erin at Home With the Boys (check out her Sticky Scriptures giveaway, too! I love these!!)
I’ve been researching more books about praying for your children. I have so loved Power of a Praying Parent (and sharing it with you on Facebook each morning) and since I’m almost to the end of the book, I thought I’d look for some more resources–hello, I have a giant wishlist on Amazon now! I can’t wait to try then out! Anywhoo, while I’ve been looking for books, I’ve found some good articles on prayer, too. I super love this Power Packed Prayers post from Grace Fox–especially the praying head to toe part.
The Power of Telling Kids Why is a guest post at Family Your Way by Kat from Inspired to Action. Every single one of Kat’s posts inspire me. This one involves Kat’s favorite Olympic moment–it’s a good one!
Have a happy weekend! I’m hoping it stays rainy so I can sleep all weekend the sun shines so we can go swimming!

Ok – I LOVE that prayer post you referenced! Getting notecards out to write those verses and prayers down this weekend!
And thank you SO much for mentioning my post! I needed that kick in the pants myself!
A weekend of rainy sleepiness sounds so lovely… 🙂

You always have such interesting links. I enjoyed reading the article on “Why”.
And I have to say that we’ve been having rainy weather too, but couldn’t be happier about it. With an average rainfall of only 8 inches in our desert home, rain is time to party! My husband who is from the midwest though still doesn’t like the rain, even though he’s lived here for over 15 years… 🙂
Have a lovely weekend.
