Why isn’t “the living end” a phrase anymore? It’s like “dreamboat”. I wish we still said both of those.
Anywhoo.
Remember my Ode to my Lands End Swim Suit last year? I have literally been a Lands End evangelist since then. And since I added my giant hide-my-face-and-shoulders hat to it, I am easily the best dressed mom at the pool. OK, I’m at least the most modest AND the least sunburned. (My hat is black, but this is the one I really want! It’s purple!)
This year, I wasn’t going to get a new suit. My Lands End from last year still looks brand new. It’s still comfy, it’s not stretched out or out of style. It’s adorable. (I’m still not taking a picture of myself in it. Don’t hold your breath.) But when Lands End asked if I’d like to try a new suit out this year I said, “HOLLA!” Just kidding. (Isn’t Holla! kinda out now?) I actually said, “Yes, please!’
So, for right at $100 I got a really cool adjustable tankini/tunic top. It is the COOLEST. The sides are adjustable so it can be short or long. I love this because it can move with your comfort level. I tried it down low and up high. I like it both ways. Plus, I love the strings hanging down. (Did you click to see the picture?) Oh! And the straps are removable. (Which I will never remove, but that’s cool.)
My husband suggested I get a regular bikini bottom instead of a skirt. *blush* So, I compromised and GOT BOTH! The skirt is adjustable (like the top!) and I think it is adorable. Even when you’ve got it hiked up to the highest, it still covers up the important parts! The bikini bottom is not exactly like a bikini–it’s got a little more coverage and makes me not feel like I’m falling out of 2 strips of fabric. But because it’s the tummy control version, it’s a little tight around the legs. Not sure how much I like it, actually. (::whisper:: maybe I need a bigger size…::)
Now, with my suit from last year, I can mix and match and come up with SIX different bathing suits! I’m so excited!
When was the last time you had a suit you loved? Here’s some tips to finding one that you actually WILL love!
Kathy @ House of Hills says
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lands End’s swim suits and have only worn them for YEARS. In fact, until this year I don’t think my baby girl (now not so baby) had ever worn anything but a Lands End swim suit.
My favorite thing is that I can order multiple sizes and have them delivered to my home where I can try them on in the privacy of my own room and determine what actually fits. Then, I can easily return the extra pieces to the local Sears store. LOVE that option.
I could gush for hours about my Lands End swim suits, but I won’t. 🙂

Okay, that’s it! I have heard SO many people gush about these swimsuits, and I totally trust you’re opinion, and I learned something valuable from the previous comment (re: ease of an ability to return items) – I will DEFINITELY be looking in to these. Thank you so much for the encouragement!
Stacey @ Tree, Root, and Twig says
Your NOT you’re. Had to fix that or it would be like a monkey on my back all day. 😉

ummmm do you know how CHEAP these are???? they have been marked down so far! I want to order two! And I am nine months pregnant and can’t try either of them on. Please stop me.

I know! At the end of the season (now!) they almost always mark them down. Last year, when I got mine I stopped at Sears to try them on and they were all 50% off!!
Erin G says
Um yeah, that was NOT stopping me. 🙂 I just ordered THREE. When I saw the first comment about returning to sears I couldn’t say no. I got a bikini bottom (with tummy control, even though everyone’s making me nervous about it working on my thighs), a skirt, two different tops (a v-neck and the tunic one you tried, amanda) all in a navyish color so I can pick/choose which combo works best. And then the one-piece that looks like a 2-piece featured at the beginning of the vid.
I have NO IDEA how I am going to try them on and get any kind of idea with my 37-week belly, but I am going to try!!!
Oh, and did I mention I spent less than $90 for all that, AND got free shipping? Thank you clearance and extra coupon codes!!
oh amanda says
Yay! Can you even believe how cheap that is?!! Sounds like you had fun!

After going YEARS without wearing a swimsuit at all, I got my first ever LE swimsuit in the mail last week. The “tummy control” bottoms are so not so friendly to my thighs. Yikes! I decided to keep them and have been on the treadmill every morning since I tried them on. :/ Only two weeks left until our beach trip. Hope my thighs are a little {lot} less gross by then!
I do love that tunic/tankini top– heading to their website right now to peruse it!

I will NEVER buy a bathing suit that isn’t Lands End. They just hold you in so much better and you know me….I need some serious support in certain areas. I used to think they had granny suits but they have come out with younger styles and I have bought one from there 3 years in a row (not that I have needed a new one b/c they hold up so well)!! I think I even turned Beckers on to them a few years ago. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!!

I got a Land’s End catalog in the mail this week. And almost immediately went online to purchase black and white one shown in the video! But I didn’t because I already bought an awesome suit this year from somewhere else.
I also found a bunch of other things I wanted to buy. Too bad the b-word (budget) was glaring at me!

Ahhh!! Wow! This looks like just the swim suit I need. Someone else recently recommended Lands End and I don’t know why I’ve been hesitating. Will have to check it out.

I clicked through from facebook because I thought you had posted a picture of yourself in the swimsuit. 🙂 I thought you had finally taken the internet swimsuit photo plunge! 🙂

oh, and the suit is very cute–what color did you get?
Anne @ Modern Mrs Darcy says
This year I tried Lands End Canvas for the first time for a swimsuit, and I also ordered one top and two bottoms! It’s really cute, and it was on clearance, so I got 3 pieces for $35–can’t beat that!
I have problems with sunscreen, so this year I got a Lands End rashguard too. It’ve had it about a month and so far it’s been great. I highly recommend!
LOVE your big floppy hat!

Holla!!! i am totally on the Land’s End wagon! I bought myself the best suit EVER from there this summer. It’s the black swim DRESS (yep you read that right sista). It’s a dress. Now at first I was a little nervous that I might conjure up visions of our ancestors swimming in full bloomers and long sleeves but it’s actually quite “s*xy”. or “Dreamboat” like, if i do say so myself. =) What’s great is that it covers as much of me as a tankini and skirt but i don’t have to deal with the up and down of the tankini top. absolutely LOVE it. okay. that’s all.

Yes, anything is possible. However, SecureClean has deep cleaning options that will overwrite deleted data several times (passes), giving it DOD (military standard) security strengths. I’ve trusted it for many years.
