We had our last Super Sunny Day at church! I have to admit, I was kinda bummed! I loved all the fun decorations and the little excitement it brought! But there was still fun to be had at home!
The Bible story was Daniel and the Lions Den with the main focus on God being with us wherever we go. This is a good one for my Lydia who tends to treat meeting strangers with the same attitude as being thrown to the lions! So, we took our Chalk It Up Card and followed the directions—make a lion pawprint path down the driveway!
I drew one really great lion print. But after that one I realized it would take me about 45 minutes to draw a path down the driveway. So, I simplified it a bit and the kids joined in with their own version of lion paws.
While we walked down the path…
and ran up the path…
we talked about what it must have been like for Daniel when he was going to the lion’s den. Was he scared? Was he trusting God? Was God with him? Then we talked about the scary things we’ve had to do. How did we react? Was God with us?
It was a quick activity and the kids loved it. And I love how it’s a GIANT reminder of our story and of God’s care for us! All these Super Sunny Day activities from church have been crazy simple. But it’s got me in a good habit of making an activity to meetup with each Sunday’s lesson. I want to partner with my church and this is a simple way to do it!
What did your kids learn at church this week? How can you make an activity from it?

Love this! I need to get back into fun activities like this with Ladybug. Thanks, Amanda 🙂
