Warm Fuzzies

online friends

I had this really great post inside of me for today. It was all about bloggy friends becoming in-real-life friends and how I’m inspired by them. It was mushy and real and lovely. It was prompted by an in real life meet up (/spend the night party) with Jessie from Vanderbilt Wife, Candace from Twiggie Makes and Brandi from Will Blog For Shoes. We spent a whole day just talking. Without the mask of a twitter handle or the appendage of a child. It was exquisite.

But since that time I’ve been woken up at least once or twice a night by Asa. For what reason? None. Other than he doesn’t know how to go back to sleep. The first night I ended up sleeping in the guest room with him. This morning Les took a turn but Asa still woke up 3 different times. And he wasn’t cooing.

This is coupled with the complete and utter meltdown of Lydia on Saturday afternoon. I do not even have the words for how ballistic she was after being frightened of a character at the Center for Puppetry Arts.

Sunday was one of those days where Asa’s only nap occurred in the truck and it lasted for all of 30 minutes. Not to mention that we left the house at 7:45am and didn’t get home until 4:45pm.

It’s 8:42am right now and I swear it feels like 6am. I’m pretty sure all my warm fuzzies have been sucked right out of me. But they will be back soon. And when they are…you will cry and wish you had spent the day with Jessie, Candace, Brandi and me. You’ll wish you could reach right through your screen and give your favorite blogger a big hug.

Actually, that’s kinda what I need right now anyway.

It never fails to amaze me how much our kids’ attitudes and behavior affects us as moms! Does that sound weird? When my 20mo is cranky it’s SO draining!!! Mixed with a lack of sleep and I’m done. I totally relate. ๐Ÿ™‚

When one of my 2-year-olds has a meltdown first thing in the morning, it’s all I can do to keep it from affecting the rest of the day. It’s pretty disheartening to want a reset button at 7:00 AM.

Hoping your kids (and you!) feel back to normal soon!

So sorry to hear that your warm fuzzies got sucked away in the form of little sleep and fussy kids. No fun, I say, no fun! I am a fan of sleep myself. Sleep and I, we’re tight. If it were possible, I would be in trouble for stalking (sleep stalking – ha!). I hope today yields something better for you and the kids. And yes, if I could, I would totally reach across cyber space and the miles between us and give you a hug. ๐Ÿ™‚
