And now in my own words…
This is MY blog. I just blog about me. I blog about stuff I like. Even before I received my first PR pitch, I probably linked to 50 companies. Ask any of my IRL friends, they will tell you that I want people to like what I like. I think everyone should love M&Ms and watch LOST and eat at Melting Pot and go on vacation to Disney. They don’t pay me to say this. I’d say it for FREE.
However, when a company does approach me and ask me to blog about their product/site/company, I may do it. I may accept cash (woo-hoo!), products, coupons, trips, tickets or ANYTHING I deem worthy. 99% of the time, I only accept pitches from companies that I love. The other 1% is from people I *think* I’d love. If I end up hating the product or the company, I’ll tell you.
Also. I will always let you know if I receive something from a company by saying “So-and-so GAVE THIS TO ME”. That’s your clue.
One more thing: I am an affiliate with many companies (Amazon, Dayspring and more). That means that when I link to them, I use a special link that will give me a kick-back of what you buy. And by kick-back I mean “teeny tiny amount”. I do not always point out affiliate links. Because I’d link to them even if I wasn’t an affiliate. And I’m only affiliates to companies I’d talk about anyway.
Now. My one and only big disclosure has to do with my membership on the Disney Mom’s Panel. I am NOT a Disney employee. All posts, thoughts and tweets are mine. They do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Disney Company.
PS. The snarkiness of this disclosure is directed at the FTC. Not at you, my dear bloggy readers & friends.
