Remember the swap bee and I are hosting? I personally wrote every swapper’s name on a piece of paper and then drew the swapping partners. And who did I get? No, not bee. Jodi, my messageboard mama! How fun! Well, Jodi was indeed fun because I got my gifts on Thursday (my birthday)!

LOOK WHAT I GOT!

We had to send 3 items: a must-have, a keepsake-y and something wearable.

My must-have is the Baby Name Wizard book. Jodi is the queen of baby names (her kids’ names are Pippa, Romilly and Beatrix for goodness sakes!), so this is the perfect must-have from her. I’ve been reading it today and it is a very cool book! (So far? Lincoln or Bennett.)

My wearable are these ADORABLE shirts she made! One for Lydia (oh, i’m cute!) one one for baby boy (oh, i’m cute, too!). Do you get it? Oh! As in Oh Amanda! How incredibly thoughtful!

Then the keepsake-y: A panda. A handmade sock panda. Do you love it? Oh, I get misty-eyed looking at it!

Thank you a million times, Jodi. I’m so glad this was my first baby gift! I hope you and Bea like your gifts as much!

I got my Shades of Red Swap today! I had forgotten all about it. Then this afternoon, right before Lydia’s nap, it started raining. Lydia loves rain so we went outside for a few minutes and there it was a beautiful box on my front porch!!

And look what was inside. Can you believe this yummy goodness?! A notepad, chapstick, a magazine, magnets, a Christmas ornament and CHOCOLATE! I hope my partner likes mine as much as I like hers. She’s got a great cooking blog. And she’s a slammin’ photographer, too. (Did I just say “slammin’”?) I felt a little nervous sending her my gift because she seems so artsy! I wanna tell you what I got her, but I’ll wait till she posts pics on flickr.

In other news…can someone fill me in on the online picture stealing? I’m reading about it everywhere–people turning their pics private, etc. But what exactly is causing everyone to do this so suddenly?

I do that anyway, so it shouldn’t be too hard. But it gives you a chance to showcase your site, find some new bloggies to read and I think there are going to be prizes. And there is. The real reason I joined. Greed.

I think that’s it…oh! I wrote my Pushing Daisies review for The Disney Blog, but it hasn’t been posted yet. The editor either has a real life, or he hates my post. *nervous sigh* I’ll post a link as soon as it’s up! (Just a preview: I liked it!)

I did my first swap! OMSH hosts a Color Me Happy Swaparooni. Basically you sign up, buy a gift in the chosen color and mail it to your partner. And they do the same for you! Gifts in the mail! How fun is that? Plus, you get to meet a new person, their blog and have fun shopping. Then everyone posts their pics on a Flickr Group and show off what we bought!

Gifts are my favorite thing to shop for anyway. If you can believe it, I’ve already started thinking about Christmas presents! For the past few years, we’ve tried to buy everyone a themed gift. One year we did books. And everyone got a book. This one was my favorite because I love books.  We got my dad, the non-reader an audio book. We got my aunt, the world-traveler a travel journal. We got my niece some picture books. Anyway, this year I’m being inspired by etsy. Shhhh! That’s all I’m gonna say!

Back to the swap. My partner was Clarissa. And we honestly couldn’t have been more different–she’s the hardworking mama of 3 kids, lives in the north, she loves politics and law and she’s 21. I’m a new sahmama, southern, try not to turn on the news EVER and I’m over the hill at 30. But this is why the internet is so cool. I would have never met her and here we are sending gifts to each other! (I really love the gift I sent to her. If she posts some pics, I’ll link to her, so you can see!) And she sent me the best gift!!

A really cute Vera Bradley wallet key chain. I’ve loved using wallet key chains since college! How easy! Bath & Body Works aromatherapy hand soap. I’ve never used this flava (what is it called? scent?) but I’ve used the eucalyptus one, which I love so I can’t wait to try this one out! And some awesome cute blank note cards in a box. She wrote the note on a cool black and white postcard. Looks like a Wordless Wednesday waiting to happen!

I couldn’t put everything in one picture because…uhm…when I opened the box, I just dumped everything out on the floor. Took the picture, emailed Clarissa and even blogged about it. Then Clarissa emailed me back and said, “There’s more stuff in the bottom of the box!” YIKES. I’m a little embarrassed but then it was kinda fun to discover another gift. It’s two! two swaps in one! So, how cute is that necklace? I love the lip shine. And you can never have too many bags!

HOW FUN! Thanks, so much, Clarissa! I had so much fun shopping for you. I hope you like your gift. I like mine!
