My blog is more than a creative outlet. It’s more than a chronicle of my life. It’s more than my memoirs. It’s even more than a community of good friends.

It is an open mailbox for FREE STUFF. Yup, free stuff. I’ve won lots of books, hair clippies for Lydia, a sweet purse and even got some Dawn Direct Foam dish soap. And recently, I received every mother’s dream…

DIAPERS & WIPES.

Can you believe Pampers emailed me and asked me to review their product? Meaning, they’d send me FREE diapers and wipes if I’d tell my bloggy friends about it. As much as I don’t want to do reviews for stuff every post, I’m sorry, how can you turn down free diapers?

Especially because I’m a Pampers snob anyway.

When I was pregnant we were still in Birmingham as Children’s Pastors. So one of my great volunteers set up a diaper shower for me. She had all the kids bring diapers and drop them in a pack-n-play. I literally got so many diapers we didn’t have to buy any for the first year!

But instead of keeping every single random size and brand, we just returned them all to Wal-Mart, put the balance on a gift card and used that card for diapers ONLY. It was awesome! And I only bought Pampers.

The hospital Lydia was born in used Pampers. Little teeny tiny diapers with baby Elmo and baby Zoe. How could you ever switch after using those sweet little things?

I’m not saying Lydia has never leaked out of a diaper, but I honestly have NO complaints about her diapers. She’s got very sensitive skin and whenever I’ve had to use another diaper (at my mil’s or somewhere), the very next diaper change she’s got diaper rash.

The diapers that Pampers sent me (yes, me!) were of their new line–Pampers Stages.

It’s basically just their same line as far as I can tell, they are just more specific to the age & development of the children who are using the diapers as opposed to just the size. Like Lydia’s size diaper is designed for kids who are moving around and “cruising”. They are stretchier and shaped differently than the newborn diapers. And because of the introduction of new food, the wipes are 20% thicker. Ahem. I’ll just leave it at that.

I like companies that always try to do better. I mean, is there any reason for Pampers to update their product? I’m already a fan. But they obviously listen to their customers and try to do more.

And while we’re on the subject of free stuff—Pampers has a Gifts To Grow Points. You input the points you find on every package of diapers & wipes and earn free stuff. I already got a cool Shutterfly book and am hoping to earn another one soon. (Speaking of which, I need to do that!)

Anyway, if you don’t like your diapers, if you’re about to have a baby—buy some Pampers. It’s worth the money as far as I’m concerned.

(Pampers also made this really cute slide show at Christmas. You could upload your own pictures and it played a great version of “Silent Night”. I’ve tried for 20 minutes but can’t get it to play. But hey–an actual CHRISTmas song? Now I’m really a Pampers fan!)
