This week Lydia threw a Scripture back at me. Like she reprimanded me with a Bible verse. No joke.
But it made me think. And hopefully made me a better mom.

There is a true story of a man named Moses. You’ve heard of him, right? He’s the one that talked to God in the burning bush, delivered the Hebrews from Pharaoh’s slavery, turned the Nile into blood and brought down the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai.
But his story doesn’t really begin with him. It begins with his mother.

It’s been five weeks of my new little pirate. Five whole weeks of newborn diapers, sweet baby smiles, cuddly blankets, and tiny clothes. It’s also been five whole weeks of feedings every 3 hours, screaming fests and sleepless nights. As wonderful as a newborn is, it can also be the scariest most aggravating time of your life! This little bitty person is completely dependent on you and they can’t remotely tell you what it is they need or want! What a privilege–and a daunting task.
When my daughter was born (a whopping 2 and a half years ago) I wanted so much to be a perfect good mom. I wanted my daughter to sleep through the night, nurse like a champ, have a perfect temperament, do sign language and of course, be a genius. So, I read every baby book I could get my hands on.
One of my favorite books is The Moms On Call Guide to Basic Baby Care. This is an unbelievably helpful book written by two pediatric nurses who are also experienced moms. They were the nurses that sat by the phone and answered all the late night phone calls of frantic first time parents. So, they’ve heard it all! Their book covers everything from nail clipping to understanding your doctor to swaddling to GETTING YOUR CHILD TO SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT. It even comes with a dvd with some of the most helpful tutorials I’ve ever seen. (Like spreading a towel on the bouncy seat to hold your baby after their bath! GENIUS.)

Moms on Call has been featured on FOX News, ABC Family, Parents Magazine and tons of other sites and resources for parents. They have a newsletter that goes straight to your inbox full of helpful parenting tips, sicknesses that are going around and info on their parenting seminars, personal consulting and online courses.
And this is where the giveaway comes in! One of these fabu authors is actually one of my friends! (But I promise I’d love this stuff even if she weren’t!) And she has graciously offered to give YOU my fantastic readers the opportunity to win one of their online Baby or Toddler Seminars. These are online classes that cover things like:
You can see some video samples of these courses online at MomsOnCall.com. These courses are a $30-$60 value!!
