My grandmother 11 months old. My great-grandparents. 1931.
I don’t think I’ve ever shared this one before. (I hope not.) I was looking through my external hard drive trying to find a picture because my RIDICULOUS scanner still isn’t working.
This one really made me stop because it’s so light! Most of the time, these old pictures are dark. I love seeing my great-grandparents in light colored clothes. My great-grandmother who was not really a looker, actually looks pretty! Do you see how she rolled down her stockings? And I love her hair!
I wonder if this was a special occasion? Or were they just celebrating their family?

My Great-Great Aunt Nell & 11 of my cousins in some form or fashion. 1953.
This is one of those pictures that my great-uncles sends out to his kids every day (!). When it’s our “branch” of the tree, he sends it to us, too. He hasn’t sent one in awhile and I realized he probably has my old email address. So, I logged in and forwarded all his old emails to myself. There were no new ones, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never shown this one before.
The house is the one my great-aunt lived in when she met her husband. They continued to live there for 3 years in an upstairs apartment. They even brought their first son home there (my dad’s cousin). The house is gone now because it burned to the ground several years ago.
I love this picture. It’s so cool to see so many of your family in one place–especially as kids. My dad wasn’t born yet, so these kids would all be his “big” cousins. And assembling 11 kids for a picture–you can just see half of them talking and not paying attention. It wasn’t wordless there either! I love it!

The back of this picture is covered in black scrapbook paper. But I can read “darling dad” on the back. I love that. I think “darling dad” is my Great-Great-Grandfather. But I’m not sure. 1937 is the date.
I just went onto anscestry.com where I’ve made a HUGE family tree and taken notes and uploaded pictures and spent hours organizing. When I logged in to check on “darling dad”, THERE WAS NO FAMILY TREE. I’m absolutley sick about it. I emailed them and hope I can figure it out. I don’t know if I have all that info on paper anymore–I’ll have to collect it again. Ugh. What happened to it? I’m a complete moron. I apparently have 2 accounts. The first one I never did anything with and must have forgotten about it. How random that I would have signed in with that one!
