Well, folkses, I’ve got some bloggy stuff going on in my head. Let’s just write a little shall we?
Numero Uno. Have you joined NaBloPoMo yet? *sigh* I just love to say that. NaBloPoMo. NaBloPoMo. Anyway, it’s just a big group of bloggers that have commited to posting every day in November. That’s not really the cool part. The cool part is that when you sign up, you get your very own NaBloPoMo social networking page. It’s like a giant myspace just for NaBloPoMo. (It’s designed by Ning. And I guess anyone can make their own “myspace”. I’m thinking of making one just for oh amanda readers. What do you think? KIDDING.) Anyway, click my awesome pic below to join! (And don’t forget to make me your friend!)
Dos. The Fall Yall Giveaway is coming up on Monday! Are you so excited? That means free stuff galore! Well, this time I’m combining this giveaway with another giveaway…that is going to start a big long month of giveaways! Are you confused yet? Well, just know that I’ve got some giveaways coming up. And they just might have to do with Christmas. Or with me. Or with what I love about Christmas. But yeah, it’s gonna be free. (I’m so excited!!)
Tres. I’m a mathlete. Oh. Oops. I meant, Mathetes. (That’s Greek for ‘disciple’. Yes, I went to Bible School. No, I didn’t know that.) Two of my favorite bloggy friends gave me an award. And I have to tell you, these are nice. And humbling. Melodye & Jenny gave me this award because they think I act (and blog) like a disciple of Jesus Christ. WOW! Thank you. I’ve said before this is an interesting season we’re in. I’m not used to not being in full-time church ministry. But to have to “strangers” say they can see Jesus in my blog posts is very encouraging. Thank you again!
Quatro. One more birthday. My favorite bloggy friend, Laura. She’s lives in Qatar. Imagine being in another country on your 30th birthday. She’s a brave one. And she’s such a thoughtful Christian, mommy and wife. I love to read her blog. Go over and say Happy Birthday, ok? (I’m just full of birthday orders today, aren’t I?)
Cinco. I don’t know. I can’t think of anything else. I refuse to blog about gay Dumbledore. I think I’m glad Oprah didn’t call me back, she’s had so many weird sexual shows this season, dontcha think? I entered Lydia in a costume contest. Peter Petrelli is getting on my nerves in this season of Heroes. And my cousin in California is pregnant! (Yes, they are near the fires. Not in. But near. Pray for them!)
Seis. The end. (btw, was my Spanish correct?)

So, in case you’ve been wondering what my tivo and I have been doing lately (besides watching pushing daisies), here’s a few recaps. You know, if I wanted people to find these reviews online after the show, I’d just recap immediately following the show. However, in the land where tivos reign, you don’t watch THURSDAY night tv on Thursday. You watch it whenever the heck you want.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s begin:
Survivor
OMG. Leslie. I knew it. When she started crying about missing her Bible I knew she had to go. *sigh*
James. Did I say I liked him? Well, I don’t. And that goes double for John Robert. *gag*
And zoolander has got to stop with the I-think-I’m-Jack-from-Lost routine. He’s getting on my nerves.
I still like Todd. And I think I might like Jamie. She seems…normal.
Heroes
I haven’t done this one yet because…well, it’s a little like a cult. Writing a recap on Hereos is akin to a Lost review. It’s just too much. However, Deanne and I have been talking about it via email a little, so I’ll continue that conversation. Jump in if you have something to add, please!
What is up with Hiro’s dad and the Petrelli’s mom? What are their powers? If they don’t have any, who are they? Mrs. Petrelli freaks me out.
Claire cut off her little toe? EEEEWWWWW. That was just gross. And please, please, please, Claire, listen to your father! He knows what’s best.
Are Micah and his Jeckyl/Hyde Mama going to come back? What happened to them?
If the Irish girl is going to be Peter’s love interest I’m going to gag. What kind of girl would watch a man throw lightning from his palms and go off with him? Please. And Peter is going to go along with the ipod thief? Freak.
I loved Heroes last season but was very disappointed with the season finale. These first 2 episodes this season have been good–nominal but good. They are going to have to prove themselves. Don’t turn into a Prison Break, please!
The Biggest Loser
Can you believe my hubby wanted to watch this instead of Heroes? He actually wanted to watch Survivor and then Biggest Loser back to back. You cannot do 2 reality game shows right after the other. It’s just wrong. Our tivo needs balance.
So we decided to watch it tonight after he and his bff played xbox. All I can say is, BLUE TEAM! What is wrong with you? Bob’s team just cannot lose. I can’t believe Patty went home. I’m too sad. I asked my dh and his bff what they thought about the show. My ever thoughfult and sensitive husband said, “They’re all fat.” There you go, Master of the Obvious.
Happy Weekend!

“Dick Ogle, Bob Rushford (killed in Korean War)”
-my grandmother’s handwriting on back of picture
This picture is thought-provoking with no words. But those 8 little words written on the back make this picture truly wordless. Yesterday got me thinking about those who give their lives for our benefit. What were these 2 men boys thinking when they were walking in this picture? When they stepped off the boat or plane into Korea? When they breathed their last breath?
I have no idea who those 2 men are. I’ve never heard their names. But I honor them today.

Today I went to the mall and bought some clothes. Whoo-ee! This has only happened about 4 times since Lydia was born. OK, so they are still comfy pants & cotton shirts, but at least they’re new!
But as I’m walking around the mall, what am I really thinking of? Jack Bauer. Buchanan. Chloe. Miles. Milo. Hiro. Sylar. Claire. Scofield. Linc. Horatio. Callie. I’m thinking of my TIVO! What would I do without my tivo?! To borrow a very overused and lame phrase, “IT IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!” I wouldn’t know, never having bread un-sliced. I’m think a better phrase would be “it’s the best thing since the can opener!” Did you know the can opener wasn’t invented until 50 years after canned food?!
Back to the point: Monday is the best night on tv. My dh and I watch How I Met Your Mother (I mean, really, Doogie Howser is on it!), The Class (the red headed guy is hi-lar-ious!), Prisonbreak (they are skating on thin ice with me…if they get away one more time…), CSI: Miami (I can’t help it, I like Horatio, head tilt and all!), Hereos (my new fave) and the master of all shows, 24 (if you don’t watch 24, you don’t know Jack).
So, there it is. I just let everyone know how big of losers we actually are. Yes, 5 hours of tv a night. But as every good tivo user/lover knows, 5 hours of tv is only 3.33 hours of tivo. I haven’t watched a commercial in 3 years. Praise the Lord.
