A Sense of the Resurrection: An Easter Experience for Families

cross easter eggs darker.jpg

Ever since my daughter did her first egg hunt, I had a thing about Easter. It seemed incongruent to the rest of our holy-days. Jesus was born on Christmas and wow–we put a dead tree in our house, decorate our front lawns, play Christmas music for a month and give outlandish gifts to everyone including the postman.

But Easter?

Easter has baskets and bunnies, eggs and new dresses. Easter might have an egg hunt at church and an empty egg for the tomb. There are a hand full of Easter books in the bookstores. There’s only a few songs about Jesus coming back to life.

But do we really make Easter–the day we celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection–his sacrifice and miraculous gift to us–a celebration? Do we really spend time telling the story to our kids? Experiencing the meaning with them?

A Sense of the Resurrection will help you do just that.

  1. This book sounds very interesting and I would love to have something to do with my kiddos to focus more on Jesus this Easter. I was wondering if you can give me any more information on it though. Or do you have any opportunities for reviewers? I have a six and nine year old girl and boy. Is this mostly for younger children or all ages? I apologize for asking so many questions, but dear hubby has been out of work for a few months due to an accident and I am trying to be frugal and wise.

  2. Yes, I agree with the previous poster. Could you give a sample chapter of the book, or what ages it is geared toward? I am hesitant to spend $7.99 right now on a book, even though I imagine that it’s a good one!

  3. I would love to see a sample or something. We have done Truth in the Tinsel for 3 years and love it, but I am having trouble taking the leap to the Easter side of things.

  6. I also have paid and don’t know how to download. :)

  7. I agree. Would love a sample chapter. And before I pay, want to make sure able to download since others seem to be having issues. This book sounds like a great idea and I can’t wait to look over a sample.

  8. Amanda, what a great book! I cannot wait to go through each activity with my girls! The crafts look fun but not too involved. I ordered my book and the link came immediately. God has truly blessed you with a wonderful ability to write and to understand how to word things so children can comprehend!

I purchased this yesterday and got the email from PayPay but never got the email from OhAmanda to actually download the book. I’ve checked my junk bin multiple times to see if I missed it. I got the email from PayPay at 2:14pm yesterday. Please let me know if I am missing something or how to actually download the book. I read your FAQ page and watched the video on how to download it. Thank you.

I purchased the ebook today and got the email from palpay at 2:15 but have never got email to download the book. I watched the video and after I bought the book it never took me to a page with the download link. I’m so excited to get the book but I don’t know why I’m not getting email and I have checked my junk folder.
    Thanks

Hi, I am looking forward to trying out the activities with my kids but haven’t received the link yet. it’s been more than 24 hours. Thanks, Natalie

  12. Corrie Melton says:

I ordered yesterday but haven’t received the link. Just checking back in!

  13. Thank you, Amanda! We loved Truth in the Tinsel and can’t wait to start this new one!

  14. I placed my order over 24 hours ago, but have not received the download email. Can you help me with this please? thanks

  15. Hi Amanda, I purchased Truth in the Tinsel last Christmas and loved it and have now purchases A sense of the resurrection and love that too! My kids love all the activities and its such a great way for them to grow in faith. I’ve just started a personal Blog and wondered if I can add a link to your website and e-books on a post? Best Wishes Katie

  16. So glad to have found that you finally did an Easter one. However, like the Truth in the Tinsel one, it prints SO slowly and uses up SO much ink because of the colored background. I know there is the option to not print it at all but, I really prefer having something tangible in my hands. It would look just as nice without the colored background.

  17. i’m not really computer savvy and couldn’t find an email to use, sorry if this is not the best way to communicate. I ordered the Easter Book and didn’t not read to download from the thank you page. I have not received my email with download link yet and ordered on March 9th. Please let me know what I can do to recieve this link. thank you. teri

  18. Hey there!
I purchased the book a few days ago and have not seen a download link and now I am wondering if the purchase went through.
Who can I contact to check that?
Thanks!! Loved Truth in the Tinsel!
    Lori

  19. I’m curious to find out what blog system you’re working with?

I’m experiencing some minor security problems with my latest website and I’d like to
find something more safeguarded. Do you have any recommendations?

  20. I ordered the book yesterday but haven’t received anything yet. What is the email I need to email you more information? Thank you!

  21. Will you be putting a package together to purchase the Christmas and Easter ebooks at a discounted price?

  22. Something a littler more personal that takes more thought than any of those gifts would be happily received
by any man. The great advantage of these as gifts is that they are widely available at any video store, there
are almost always some on sale (even well after Christmas)
and they are relatively cheap. Most of us use email for all our personal letters so consider that
if the person is likely to write you a physical letter, than they can probably use stationary.

Hi! I ordered the book about a week or so ago, and haven’t received anything yet. How long should it take? Thank you!

  25. Hi there. I am a blogger and was interested in doing a review of this beautiful curriculum. My blog has about 2,000 readers. Let me know if you are interested!

  26. Hey there. I ordered the book and paid and haven’t received anything to download it. What do i do?

  27. What is the difference between an Ipad and an Ipod Touch
    Besides Size?

  28. It ?s also m?ch more convenient tto be dealing with only ?ne service provider every time.
This is so that while one is being cleaned an? dried the other can be ?ut in for use.
In the event you face this kind of problem, you ou?ht to ?se a specialist
to take the fan belt to the original position.

  29. I am very hesitant to order this book after seeing all the issues downloading it. I am not a computer genius. Wondering if the people having trouble finally got the book?

  30. Hi Amanda,

I used my church’s credit card to download the Sense of the Resurrection & would like to use some of the ideas for a kids church lesson. Do I have permission to share with the children’s leaders who will be working in class that day?

  31. sabrina says:

Hi Amanda! I bought the e-book, but did not get the download sent to my e-mail. I do have a receipt from paypal though. excited to get it started:)

  32. Would love to give this book a try – however, Amanda, is it too late to start now? Is there a way to “condense” it or do you think it’s still worth to get this book even though I won’t be able to finish all 12 activities? Thank you!!!

    • You can still do it! You can look thru and see which ones are just too “big” to do or combine 1 or 2 of the activities! Also, I really think the very last activity would be perfect to do the day AFTER Easter!

      a

      • Ok great to know, thanks Amanda! We will actually be out of town during the Easter weekend, I hope it will be easy to do some of these while on the road, what do you think? Are these activities fairly “portable”?

        • Hmmmm….I don’t know if portable is the right word. Some of them are. Some of them aren’t. I’d suggest buying it, looking thru it and then see how you can manipulate some of it as you travel! :)

  33. Just wanted to say that we completed the Sense of the Resurrection book and my boys 1 and 3 LOVED it! They keep asking to make more flags and want me to tell them more stories about Jesus. Thanks for this great resource. Can’t wait to do Truth in the Tinsel for Christmas. I’ll have to start thinking of ideas to do with them between now and Christmas though. Thanks SO much!!!

  34. Heya! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no back up.
Do you have any methods to prevent hackers?

  35. My family members always say that I am killing my time here at web,
however I know I am getting experience everyday by reading such good posts.
