I have to admit I’m kinda jealous of the back-to-school shoppers. There is nothing I like better than brand new school supplies! Anybody else?
Oooh, I love to look at all the blank notebooks, brand new backpacks and *sigh* Sharpies in every color! My sil is going away to college for the first time and I bought her a big laundry basket full of stuff she might need—but really it was my fix for school supply shopping.
So, if you’re like me and love to shop for school supplies…or for anything really, come read my post about Box Tops for Education’s new online shopping program. You can earn cash for your kids’ school!

I went back to school shopping for the kids supplies last night. Spent forty bucks and still didn’t get everything on the lists. Not so sure what is fun about that! π

When we are in the States, I love it. Last year we were there for BTSS, even though we homeschool. I bought packs of crayons for 8 cents…yes, 8 cents! It was awesome. I find that I can benefit a little bit from it :-).

I got all the school supplies last week… except emelia’s backpack. She is the pickiest 10 year old ever! We went everywhere and she insists she is too mature for a hannah montana or hsm backpack, the cute jansport colored ones just aren’t her style… we ended up at TJ max and bought a big black and white polka dotted bag that she said was “perfect.” I would never have picked it for her. What a girl. Just wait, you have so much to look forward to.
The funnest purchase was a disney princess set of school supplies I found today at TJ maxx. folders and notebooks, pencils and a pencil bag. Emelia quickly told me she would never use it, too embarrassing. I told her I wasn’t buying it for her. I bought it for Amanda who loves Disney princess and could care less what anyone thinks. She took a tinkerbell backpack through her sophomore year

I am a school supply junkie. Not only do I buy for my son since I’m a teacher I go hog wild for me too. Walmart and Staples watch out!!

Ahhh…one of the reasons why I became a teacher. I even get to buy some supplies at tax payer’s expense! π It is an all new high.

I LOVE new school supplies. The best part is that since my Caterpillars are homeschooled, I wait until everyone else is back in school. Then Staples and Target mark everything down to pennies so I can purchase TONS of new stuff for next to nothing.
(We also buy extra stuff for the Christmas Shoeboxes, the Caterpillars love picking out girl stuff to put in the gifts. I have silly boys!)

Hi Amanda!
I’ve been a lurker on your blog for quite some time now, and thought it time to de-lurk. I noticed your baby is due in 53 days, mine is due in 58 days. I remember when I thought I was pregnant I read yours and Bee’s and I thought aha a bloggy sign from above, then I took the test and it was positive. Strange huh?
Anyway, I am totally with you on the new notebooks and stuff, I just love writing on the very first page, there’s nothing quite like it…
Hope you don’t mind me stopping by,
Nat x

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
