Last weekend, my husband and I saw the newest show in Atlanta, Kurios. I’m not good at labels and descriptions when it comes to fashion, architecture or musical style but this one was this an amazing textured, mechanical steampunk thing covered with jazzy electro-swing. If I had to pick a Thing that I liked that would be it–I’ve always loved swing and jazz, turn-of-the-century ingenuity, classic circus imagination and it’s made even better by the crazy creativity of Cirque!
Here’s a few pictures so you can see just how astonishing this show is…
I mean just LOOK at this costuming! The accordion guy on the left? It took a seamstress a week to sew the inside of that thing!
Oh you know, just some contortionists who have worked together for 18 years. (WHAAT???)
This guy. THIS GUY. He did handstands on chairs. But…oh, the creativity when he got to the top. I don’t want to tell you. But it was just breathtaking.
And this is for my CrossFit friends–this guy basically did kettlebell swings with his wife. Sigh. I can’t even.
Y’all. I COULD LIVE HERE. These costumes!
I mean, yeah, he’s juggling but look at the amount of people on the stage! There is just so much to look at, every single bit was magic.
I sat through the show on the edge of my seat, clapping, gasping and otherwise grinning like a fool. I think the girl in front of me even turned around to look at me once. <sheepish grin> When the show was done, I was the last one in the tent.
So. Let’s get to it. Kurios will be here until May. YOU NEED TO BUY TICKETS. If you are even slightly near Atlanta, buy tickets. Make a weekend of it! Come have coffee with me! They’ve given me three different coupon codes to share with you! Wheee!

We sat in section 200 on row I which were perfect seats. But honestly, if you had any seat in the house, it would be good because it’s a small auditorium.
Now, would you like to win a 4-pack of tickets to Kurios in Atlanta? OK. Here’s the deal. I’ve already got the tickets in my hot little hands. They are for March 24, 2016 at 4:30pm at Atlantic Station in Atlanta, GA (you’ll want to get there early, I promise!). So, if you can’t go that day, please don’t enter!
To enter to win, use the Rafflecopter widget below. I’m only leaving this contest open through the weekend so whoever wins can plan accordingly. So, get on it!
ps–later in 2016, Kurios will be in Boston, DC, New York and Miami. So, keep your eyes open!

The girl LOVES her some Cirque du Soleil! Like LOVES! When she was little, she would watch the PBS videos my mom had and pretend she was one of the show people and do all types of contortions all around the living room. True story. So, she would be all kinds of thrilled to be able to go.
