It’s 7:39pm. I’m sitting at the kitchen table in my pajamas (see the lovely snowmen above). And this is the first time I’ve sat down since about 8am. Why? Because I’ve been driving all over Atlanta trying to buy my kids some warm clothes. Why is every girls winter dress sleeveless? Seriously.
Anywhoo.
I’ve been wanting to tell you a few things for like 4 days and every single time I post, I forget to mention it. So, I’m about to mention all of the said items now. Ready?
First, let me tell you a funny story. When I went to dotMom, my friend Jessica from Muthering Heights was there. She is my OCC-partner-in-crime and all around Allume-conference-wonder-mama. She said to me, “Amanda! I’m starting a new blog and I want you to help me.” OK! Sure! I’m in! What is it? “It’s a fashion blog. I want you to post pictures of your outfits and other fashion ideas.” <insert gobsmacked face> Me? I’m not fashionable. “Yes, you are! Look how cute you are!” Uhm. Jessica. We’re at a conference. I pulled out my two cute outfits for this weekend.
I guess the short hair fooled her and now I’m a contributor for Together in 1o! It’s a genius idea–fashion tips for mamas who only have ten minutes to get it together. The other (fashionable) contributors are amazing and inspiring! You can click over there to read my post about easy fun fashion and then click around to see some real fashionistas!
Now, for the second thing. Maybe you’ve noticed Christmas is drawing ever nearer? Well, I’m kind of excited about it. I’ve been posting at the Truth in the Tinsel blog and hanging out on the Facebook page. It’s putting me in the Christmas mood. I’m almost to the point of breaking Christmas music out.
I wrote (what I think) is a fabulous post about Elf on the Shelf alternatives. I’m not a big fan of ye olde elf. But the post isn’t about that–it’s about some other amazing ideas to add a little whimsy and magic AND meaning to your Christmas celebration.
This leads me to the third thing I need to tell you: boys are different. Yeah, I bet you didn’t know that till I just told you, huh? Boys are louder, crazier, sillier and can make better car and train noises than girls. I don’t know how it happened but it’s true. And if you’re thinking about doing Truth in the Tinsel with a little boy in your family this year, you might wanna check this post out: Crafting with Boys. It’s a good one.
And speaking of me telling you what to do (that’s what all those previous links are about–me telling everyone what to do for their closet, their Christmas celebration and with their sons), I recorded a podcast with the fabuloso Kat from Inspired to Action this week. We talk a little bit about my bloggy history, the switch from Impress Your Kids and of course, Christams and Truth in the Tinsel.
All you gotta do is download that little puppy to your computer or iPod and you can listen to me pontificate for 45 whole minutes! Are you so excited?! I knew you would be.
OK. I think I’ve about ohAmanda-ed you out. I’ll let you get back to your regularly scheduled programming. (Which by the way, what are you watching this season? We haven’t found any new shows we like much. Except Survivor, of course!)
Oh! One more thing: the newest printable art for Praying God’s Word for Your Kids is up on Facebook! This one makes me smile…

I enjoyed your podcast so much! So many wonderful ideas. It’s nice to meet you!
Aw, thanks! it was fun!
