l-r, top to bottom: went to the Braves game with my in-laws, Lydia learned to tie her shoes, Lydia and I were in our local July 4th parade with her dance class and Asa started tumbling classes!
Last night I told Les I needed the night off. So, after we ate dinner (crustless quiche in the iron skillet!) I took my laptop and went into my room. Closed the door and read. I caught up on over 100 blog posts by some of my favorite people. And now, you get to see some of my faves. You ready?
Basically, all three of these posts popped up on Facebook within a day or two of each other. And I needed to read them all: 10 Signs Your Child Might Be Spoiled and What To Do About It at Smockity Frocks; Spoiled Rotten by Jill at Diaper Diaries and The World Does Not Revolve Around Your Child by Jenae at I Can Teach My Child. (Read all the comments, too!)
Impress Your SPONSORED Kids is next Friday, July 13 and to get you ready, here are some cool Facebook Cover photos from Compassion (if you have a Compassion kid) over at Shaun Grove’s blog. And I lovey love love this post from Jolanthe at Homeschool Creations about her super creative idea for gifts (and games) for your sponsored kids.
Have you been following Kristen‘s trip to Kenya? *whew* Well, this short video of one of the girls from the Mercy House made me cry. After you watch it, go back and catch up on all Kristen’s posts from this last week or so. You will be inspired and blessed.
Focus on the Family has a free resource for you right now–it’s a Summer Survival Kit with recipes, crafts and devotional ideas for your whole family. I just downloaded it and can’t wait to read through all of it (and do some of it, too!)
And while we’re at it, a few books we’ve been enjoying this week: Tuesday, Secret Seahorse and A Sick Day for Amos McGee. And I’m reading Love Does by Bob Goff (who I saw and fell in love with at Orange) and just finished the 2nd Katie Parker book by Jenny B. Jones, which was just as funny and good as the first one–if you have the 3rd in the series on your kindle, let me know so I can borrow it. Hint, hint.
Happy weekend, friends!

Your link to “the world does not revolve around your child” isn’t working. 🙂
Thanks for this post! My kids have been making me crazy this week and I’m really feeling like things need to change.
Ack! Thanks for letting me know! Fixed it!

I saw Jolanthe’s post too. We just sent a letter this week. Will be emailing soon, and trying to get another letter out next month. 🙂
