A Conversation with Siri: Top Ten {Tuesday}

top ten list

So. My iPhone. I kinda love it. Jo-Lynne just posted about how she still kinda misses her Android. But I am flat out in love with my iPhone. And Siri, the voice of my iPhone can help me do almost anything. I can tell her, “Remind me to email So-and-So” and she will! I make audio notes about blog posts and grocery lists. I say, “Call my mom” and she does! I ask her the weather and she brings up the weather report. I even asked her what 435 divided by 24 was and she gave me the answer! Once I asked her who the president was and she showed me a picture of Obama. (Didn’t like that too much, actually. But still. She’s smart.)

And she’s kinda funny, too. Here’s some of my favorite conversation with Siri:

1. Me: Merry Christmas, Siri.

She’s so politically correct!

2. Me: Tell me a joke.

That. Is a good one!

3. Me: I’m tired.

iPhone 4

So thoughtful!

4. Me: I’m really tired.

iPhone 4

Yowza! She’s like my mom!

5. Me: Sing me a song.

I literally chortled when she did this.

6. Me: Knock, Knock

And a snicker here.

7. Me: Where do you live?

Hmmmm. Interesting.

8. Me: You look very pretty today, Siri.

And she’s polite, too!

9. Me: Do you read any blogs?

And that’s what I was trying to get from her–that she read my blog. Oh wait. She’s not real, is she?

10. Me: Call my husband

And this is the best part. I can’t show you a screenshot, because it’s something you have to hear. My husband’s name is Les. But apparently she thinks he’s French. So, when I say, “Call my husband”, she says, “Calling Les White!” in a beautiful French accent! My kids imitate it all the time.

Clearly we have too much fun with my iPhone. We regularly try to find fun things to ask her. She’s kinda part of the family.

Do you have an iPhone? Any good conversations with Siri I need to know about?

  1. That almost makes me want an iPhone! The French “Les White” made me laugh out loud.

  2. Love it!

We can’t upgrade phones until November, but I’m ready to upgrade to a newer iPhone with Siri. Plus, I need one with more memory. I didn’t even consider that my music was going to take up so darn much room! (I always have had large memory iPods.)

  3. You are getting along way better with you iPhone than my friends are {I still have my droid, which says absolutely nothing to me}. So I can’t believe you didn’t ask it anything about puppets. Would you? Please?

  4. Also Mr Linky is a liar ’cause he said my link wasn’t submitted and look; there it is twice. Tell Siri to have a chat with him, k?

  5. omg… i literally laughed out loud on some of these… “Amanda, I don’t do knock, knock jokes.” bah! hilarious.

  6. k, that is soo cool! I have an IPhone, but it’s the one right before Siri, so I don’t have a little phone friend. It sounds really helpful and fun though! ^.^

  7. I might need a verse from Lydia because I’m definitely coveting Siri!!!

  8. Amanda @ The Pelsers says:

My oldest (5) loves Siri… We like asking “Where is Joshua?” to have her bring up Daddy’s location from Find My Friends and compare where his dot is to our dot on the map.

  9. Yes! One time I said “I love you, Siri!” and she said “You are the wind beneath my wings.” As a child of the 80’s/90’s, I CRACKED UP.

  10. Oh how fun! I’d never get anything done b/c I’d want to talk to her all day! And I love that she’s singing a song about me 🙂

  11. so cute… 🙂 no iphone here #wishes

  12. I am so technology challenged that I still have the classic cell phone. But iphones do sound like fun!

  13. Ok, now that’s just a little bit creepy! But also hilarious!

  14. JDaniel4's Mom says:

She is so talented! My son would love her jokes.

  15. So funny, but I want to hear about why your friend misses her Android… i’m on the fence about making the switch.

  16. Gayle Roger says:

So funny. I still love my Android. Thinking about upgrading to Siri but I have an IPAD and I don’t want 2 of the same thing. Blackberry is coming out with a new one in the fall so I am interested to see what it will have.
Too much technology, so little time.

  17. Lindy Lao says:

If you have no one to talk to, a conversation with your iPhone would kill your boredom for sure. How long did you have Siri?

Cool stuff here. I like your conversation with Siri!

  18. Oh man, we have so much fun with Siri too. Ask her to “open the pod bay doors” or “what is the best cell phone?”

  19. Glad to know we are not the only family that talks to their phone. 🙂
My daughter told Siri that she rocks and Siri said “I’m good but not great.” She’s even humble!

  20. I wanted to translate some articles from a foreign magazine and I was wondering if its legal to post them online..

  21. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  22. What is the best free software to automatically backup wordpress database and files?

  23. i bookmarked you in my browser admin thank you so much i will likely be in search of your following posts

  24. hey admin thanks for good and straightforward understandable publish i loved your website site really much bookmarked also

  25. I do not even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good. I do not know who you are but definitely you’re going to a famous blogger if you are not already 😉 Cheers!

  26. I am not sure where you’re getting your info, but great topic. I needs to spend some time learning more or understanding more. Thanks for great information I was looking for this information for my mission.

  27. I truly like the arragement of your site. I appreciate the excellence of the information. You have done a outstanding job. Thank you very much

  28. Great informational blog! I love your writing style – Awesome work Thank you!

  29. There are certainly numerous particulars like that to take into consideration. That is a nice point to deliver up. I provide the thoughts above as normal inspiration however clearly there are questions just like the one you carry up the place an important thing will be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged round things like that, however I’m certain that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Each girls and boys feel the influence of just a second’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.

  30. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  31. Very interesting subject, thamk you for posting.
